Did you buy it as a kit with the SD1? How does it perform?

Nope, I got it separately. It is fine as a walkabout lens. Actually it is pretty sharp and the Optical stabiliser sure comes in handy. Sigma SA mount lenses are hard to come by locally ......... :)

Played with it last night, was a bit disappointed by the B&W mode. I expected a bit more refined control.

looks like we still have to rely heavily on LR for more dependable processing, really troublesome and time consuming.

I think Sigma should spend more money on their Software package or make a deal with Adobe to get it implement in LR.

Take your favorite print/s and print it at AO size, you won't be disappointed.

Was deciding whether to get this or the much cheaper Flipbac. The Franiec grip seems to provide a more secure grip though, and looks much better.

After ordering it, I saw Really Right Stuff and JLM also make grips, attached to baseplates. Should be heavier, but more secure. Anyway, maybe Franiec's is just fine, it's a light camera anyway.

have finally decided and ordered the Flipbac G4 grip, as it is the cheapest of any other brand that i know of.

it doesn't look as good as the Franiec one, nor does it appear to provide a better grip, but the price is really unbeatable.

Well, anything will do, I was ready to just DIY it myself until I saw the Franiec. Have fun, mine was shipped today :)

was actually going to buy the Franiec grip, but since i needed two pieces for my DP1M and DP2M that would have been too costly. i still like the Franiec design though.
