urgh... yuck but that is nature...

Does the fungus grow on the corpse or the fungus KILL the robberfly?
First time I see the word robberfly. What is the diff between robberfly and dragonfly and damselfly?

If I'm correct, the Robberfly first got the fungus "virus' while alive (probably also the main cause of it's death) and the fungus than propagate after it's death.

Robberfly is just another insect which I find it quite interesting.
They are good at ambushing, waiting at a perch and snatch off or "rob" away any prey that flew pass them.
Probably, this is how the name Robberfly came from.

Below is another image of the Robberfly with some snack.

Thanks NatureTTL, for demoralising me... well done, again...

Awesome photo, as usual.... what is unusual is when you shoot a crap macro...

The focal length of the lens plays a big part.
The longer the FL, the smaller the FOV, therefore, less chances of getting a messy background. Better subject isolation.
Just by shifting your setup a bit left or right, you would be surprise that the background actually changes. Choose your background.

Ok, we shall stop our macro discussion here.
Can continue in the macro & close-up thread if need too, otherwise, I will received a yellow card from our big brother, microcosm :o

Thanks for being sensitive... but for making me sound like some gangster moderator, I will give you one infraction... thanks for sharing NatureTTL... it is this sharing that helps the community grow as photographers... You should start a macro thread.
