For normal people who are not rich, how did you fulfill your M9 dream?

Actually I'd rather get a good and fast film scanner. Flextight comes to mind... haha.

(Current scanner is damn good, but not fast... :( )

Agreed...

i just need the P and the two lenses in the middle, or maybe just the 35/2.. i think i will be happy for another 2 years or more..
and maybe add a GRD3? hehehe..

good to know TS has decided.. anyway, for my case, it's not leica (wait long long for me), but i really like compact fixed lens RFs.. I'm a foreign student, my parents don't know that i bought some cameras.. i do research first, then save up.. it's not easy for me who still need to pay for my own accomodation, my own food, my own transport, etc (honestly, my parents only send money once in a while, what they know is that everything is paid under the loan..) so if i really want something, i work my a** off and save up, and not seldom for me to sell off my other gear(s).. that way i can raise fund in the same time i make sure that i don't "waste" my cameras.. and now i am making it a point that for every one new camera, an old one must go.. i only have three now, one is XA2, the other two are my dream cameras since i started my RF journey, the QL17 GIII and the XA, and i sold all other cameras, including my one and only digital D70.. and now i am saving up for the P and a 35mm glass, i don't want to let go of the XA and QL17, so i will sell off the XA2.. that's how a poor student get his dream camera.. just to share.. :)

Well M9, I would go for it if I had the cash to be off loading but the problems that come with it is just hideous.

Its a more than 8 grand camera, comes with a LCD screen that is prob using the same technology as when DSLR first started out.
Card reader that is so fragile that even Taiwanese card ready is more sturdy.

Cant believe its still called a robust camera with all that problems.......

Nevertheless it is still a full frame digital RF. I would buy it if it was half the price but for 8 grand, like the guys said, I would prefer to get a solid scanner to run solid scans on my film pictures. Cant go wrong with the imacon.

The flextight scans on Flickr are just amazing btw. You all should check them out. And the flextight is just a couple of grand more expensive than an M9 (but likely to depreciate slower in monetary value).

I've been saying since day 1 the digital M came out, get a M4 + 2 to 3 lens and a good film scanner like Nikon Cool Scan 5000ED, and total value still not more than a M9.

Well said from our resident guru!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

U'll be there soon..sooner or later, bayusuputra..
A matter of time only. :)

thank you.. i've been eyeing for a good codition Canon P.. hopefully will be there by the end of next month or August.. i don't mind russian glass for a starter..

yeah, good scanner would be a better investment for me, too, than a digital M..

I don't think getting an M9 will make your photos any better. Seriously, if you look at the best photographers in the world (past as well as present), they shoot film with an old Leica. I suggest you keep the M8 and get better at using it. I can give you the best golf clubs in the world and Tiger Woods can use my son's junior clubs and he will still beat all you or any golfer in Singapore. It is not the arrow the won't fly straight but the Indian who cannot shoot.;)

I like! Very much!

Cheers,

+1.... ;)
