For normal people who are not rich, how did you fulfill your M9 dream?

Hi all,

I started my rangefinder Journey with a M8 and it really give me alot of good memories. Really learn alot from my darling M8 about exposure, street shots (how to be more daring in street shooting, etc etc), Framing..

After 1 Year, which is today, I am thinking of getting a M9..Do you think I should?
The only I can do it, is still sell my M8 and my zeiss 25mm and my summarit 35mm and top up the rest. And all I'll be left with is just a hexanon 50mm F2..

What do you guys think? Should I bite the bullet and for owners of M9 (who was in same situation as I am now), how did you get your M9?

I have been drooling with M9 since the past immemorial...

I think you will be happier with one M8 and three lenses than one M9 and one lens.
Let the M9 wait for you...

i sold all my dslr gear and moved over to m9 with 35mm lens.. never regretted abit.. work and save lor.. i think you will be more happy with 3 lenses+m8 than just m9 and hexanon.. you might want to clear those 3 lens and get a better lens? hehe

Save, that's all.

I'm on my way to getting one next year.

alternatively, sell your M8 + 3 lens and pick up film... for every M9 + 35mm lens set, you can get all the stuff below and probably still have lots of change to get a top end light meter! :p

If you already have M8, you should know that the M9 shooting experience is the same. Only difference is full frame and your lens focal length is different.

I'm still shooting with the original M8.
I'll spend on lenses anytime.

I will skip M9 for M10 whenever it may be... Still loving M8 and the lens do play a big part rather than full frame or not ;)

If the M9-P materialize, there should be a drop in M9 price and should be plenty of 2nd hand unit for upgraders. So wait...

Thanks all for the advice.
I have divorced with my m8 and she has taken custody of my zeiss and summarit. Lol
New wife M9 is sitting beside my bed Liao. :)

sometimes people already know what they want deep down in their heart....purpose of this thread? :dunno:

i just need the P and the two lenses in the middle, or maybe just the 35/2.. i think i will be happy for another 2 years or more..
and maybe add a GRD3? hehehe..

good to know TS has decided.. anyway, for my case, it's not leica (wait long long for me), but i really like compact fixed lens RFs.. I'm a foreign student, my parents don't know that i bought some cameras.. i do research first, then save up.. it's not easy for me who still need to pay for my own accomodation, my own food, my own transport, etc (honestly, my parents only send money once in a while, what they know is that everything is paid under the loan..) so if i really want something, i work my a** off and save up, and not seldom for me to sell off my other gear(s).. that way i can raise fund in the same time i make sure that i don't "waste" my cameras.. and now i am making it a point that for every one new camera, an old one must go.. i only have three now, one is XA2, the other two are my dream cameras since i started my RF journey, the QL17 GIII and the XA, and i sold all other cameras, including my one and only digital D70.. and now i am saving up for the P and a 35mm glass, i don't want to let go of the XA and QL17, so i will sell off the XA2.. that's how a poor student get his dream camera.. just to share.. :)

U'll be there soon..sooner or later, bayusuputra..
A matter of time only. :)

Sell your kidney for it.?

There is no dream camera in my list.
Only great moment I wish very much to capture in my photography journey.

...

Honestly, I would rather get a NEX 7 or an M8 or an Epson R-D1 than go begging and borrowing to finance an M9, which is hediously overpriced for a full frame camera with specifications that date back a decade ago.
