Haha madmacs, save yr breath. I know Snoweagle's style. He'll do what he wants, come hell or high water, regardless of what people say or do.
He wants the camera to stuff it all in one folder so that he can cut and paste easily. So unless you can find a way to make his 10D stuff everything into one folder, well everything else you say is just off topic.
Nothing wrong with that really... just that you'll probably run around in circles when the answer's staring you right in the face.

Ok let me make this very clear. I know most of u are seasoned DSLR users but for me i'm new to it so was just wondering what's the max capacity for each folder in 10D and if there's anyway i can increase it or doing simple transfers that's all.
Dunno y pple like solari have to make such a big fuss over it? What's the prob anyway?

Back to your question, 10D is programmed to create a new folder after every 100 shutter counts, even if you delete some images. There is nothing users can do to change that.
As for downloading images, I dun use Canon's softwares.
I find using the Nikon View (downloaded from Nikon website) to be very useful. It will transfer all the images from all folders without you having to open the folders. And in you case, you can specify certain date/day or certain period to be transferred to one folder in your PC, and repeat that of another date/day to another folder. Very easy to use.

i have ask around in other forums, and finally found a sifu who's good at writing dos batch commands and his batch command works for me by copying all the folders in the DCIM directory into a single folder on my harddisk. this will work for all camera, canon, nikon, olympus , etc...
The instruction is as follow :
u'll need to create the destination folder on the harddisk before hand.
"copy the following in notepad starting from "@echo off".

if "%2" == "" goto err2
for /R %1 %%f in (*.*) do copy "%%f" "%2"
goto ending
:err1
echo Please enter the source directory
goto ending
:err2
echo Please enter the destination directory

save it as blurrcop.bat to c:\windows\system32
to copy all jpg (including those in the subdirectory) from c:\test to c:\all type the following
blurrcop c:\test c:\all "
u will then have all jpg file from c:\test (including those in sub) in one whole directory in c:\all

i've tested on winxp, confirm working, but u'll have to work in dos
dunno win 98 or lower can or not,
i like this script becoz if i use zoom becoz most of the software require the creation of thumbnail and loading of all photos before letting u download while this script doesn't

Oddly enough, if you really noticed, most of those giving the feedback are long term users of the 10D, and you're the newest. Unless Canon Inc decides to do something and issue a new firmware, we're still stuck.
Don't want to rename/move from multiple folders? Sure. Use film. No folders... but wait. There's those sleeves for the developed film...
