400 lumens is bright but because its LED, its gonna produce a lot of spill light and not much throw.

unless u have good reflectors.

the light i have above is also ard 400 lumens

Even my "1000 lumens" is still "floody" ("combining" multiple LEDs/Dies in one config)...
In fact u need BIGGY reflector to give u the :cheergal: :bsmilie:

btw did u custom made that torch? what kinda body is that?

i have played around at macritchie and all sorts of insects are attracted to the light so much so that it creeps me out. but i guess its attracted to the UV portion of the light.

my suggestion is bring mosquito coils and insect repellant.
ridsect or shieldtox? - not realli sure coz these might damage the wild life.

I used to carry a small torch light but my partner felt it weird so i decided not too.....i did not know there are people whom hv same hobby wow....:bsmilie:

Yes, you found us :bsmilie:.

My friends would laugh at me too for carry torchlights, but I don't give a damn.

Most probably we will go to MacRitchie in Jan, I will post the outing here & PM you when the time come.

Depends on what you like, thrower or flooder and your budget.

to start with Fenix models are good, you can ask cateye for recommendations. If you have more fund then Surefires'.

oh, nice. hope to be free for outing.

Surefire good oni for US folks, international customers dun get same treatment. not when a tailcap costs above SGD$50. selected models from Streamlight, Inova, Pelican, Princeton Tec & Fenix are good too. just need to know own preferance. & must know where sell cheaper.

So where can i buy a good torch light? recommendation

try looking at shops at Beach Road. there is a cluster of small shops in the upper floors of the market & another shop nearby, S&K Sports trading.

wad kind of light are u looking for? a more detailed criteria will help.
