Flash: YN460 better than Nissin 622?

Go CASE for $300? dont think so. treat it as "tuition fees". guess their reputation is worth just $300. good think i spend a lot of time researching when i bought my first SLR.

I think CASE will ignore such things n not investigate.
They may only take it as a record of complaint lodged.

lol tt's why i said its pretty hmmm....

tuition fees man. Anyway if u don't mind can get 2nd hand 580exii on CS. for 500 bucks

Thanks for the offer bro. Let me master the basics of flash photography first.

Do online research about the product and price range before going to buy.

At least bring your camera along to test if there is this TTL thing (if you know what it means).

Hi Guys,

i am absolutely a newbie here.

went to People Park to get a simple flash to improve my indoor shots.

Wanted to get a Nissin 622, which they say similar to Canon 580ex. But the sales guy convinced me to buy YN460.

I double-confirmed if it has TTL, and better than Nissin 622, which he said YES.

I paid $290+ for YN460, higher than the Nissin.

Was i cheated?

what you can do is, say that you change your mind and wanted the Nissin 622 instead and take back the difference....see what the saleman say loh...
btw, you can check out the virtual store here. One of them is selling it.

Nissin Flash Review: Di622-II (flash for Canon / Nikon) | Speedlights.net

If case ignore this kind of cases, I don't see what's the point of having them around. True that it's only $200+ difference, but this is obviously a misrepresentation from the shopkeeper, lying thr his/her teeth just to cheat a sale.

I have done some research on consumer rights, and even in Singapore you are entitled to return the item with seven days for full refund. Original condition of cos. If the merchant refuse to comply, you can bring in the authorities and if you paid by credit card you can also involve the bank. It's real sad that sales ppl in Singapore still do things like that. In my opinion, it is considered cheating. Btw for camera shops, you should ever only go to a merchant you trust.

TS... first thing. Nissin 622 is similar to 430EX II and not 580EX.

If you are looking for a flash that is cheap and similar (but don't have master and high speed sync) to 580EX II and/or 866Di, then you should be looking at YN565ex (S$2xx).

For what you pay, you definitely had paid extra for a lower end flash. No use crying over spill milk now. Like you... I have also learn never to trust salesman and do my own homework before any purchases.

went back to the shop and got an exchange with the Nissin 622 MkII, plus some extras.

Made sure i went in when there were customers.... a few tourists testing our video cams, and SLRs. Asked for the boss, and 2 sales people politely escorted me to a corner and i slowly explained the situation. coincidentaly the salesman who conned me was on leave.

the matter was resolved rather quite quickly.

and now to photography!

I'm surprised and glad it went that well. Lesson learned (luckily at zero costs). Happy shooting :)

Glad it's resolved quicky and smoothly. Happy Shooting!

Care to share What are the extras? If it's 622 mk2, there's abt $59 worth of extra to cover.
