Is there any website we can view these items at? I'm particularly interested in the C version, and would like to ask if there are any moving parts to the "C". It also seems kinda tight fit to put the cam at where I think its supposed to go.

The items are from OMAX photographic equipments. Not sure if they have any photos online. Did a search but could not find any. I could direct the query for you.

*Price Update*
The price of the Z, u and C bracket is about $28 while the straight bracket is about $25.

"C" part can be swieveled around the base piece, which is attached to the camera and also, the flash shoe can be moved along the "C" piece

when is the products expected to be delivered and where is the place to collect?

prob take about 3 weeks if there are no delays. Collection around hougang or NEL line

Hmm then I'm probably out of this, seldom if never go to hougang or NEL :P Probably better to have a central collection place like Peninsula.

Anyway, good luck in your sales!

eh.. NEL extends to plaza singapore and beyond. :) If there is a number of people requesting to meet at penisula, then its no problem. just drop a note if u change ur mind.

Will proceed to order by end of this week and update the thread on arrival date and shipping cost. Gentle reminder that the price stated above does not include shipping, but shouldnt be more that a few dollars.

Hope to cummulate orders :bsmilie:

Hi, I'd be very interested in any comments on trading experiences with this source, or at least a one of similar name. He seems to be a perfectly legitamate dealer, but there are a number of things which make me suspicious.

1. It seems as if he is willing to supply anything you wish, even very hard to get items, provided you buy enough.

2. Refuses to accept payment via PayPal, for orders less than £100GB. Which is odd, as it is more usual for Indian concerns to trade in $US, and £100GB is strangely arbritrary. He uses the excuse that PayPal only pay out by cheque in India, but that shouldn't affect each individual transaction.

3. He sent me a price list initialy in Euro, obviously unaware that in the UK we don't yet use Euros. The 'corrected' list in £GB had the same amounts, so 1Euro=£1GB! (actualy, Euro=£0.68 roughly.) Claimed this was a mistake.

3. The shipping weights for some items were excessively padded. Some items were listed at more than four times the actual weight, and then a whole kilo added for the box on top of that!

4. Insists on calling quotations invoices. (There is a big difference, you don't have to pay quotations.)

5. Can get quite rude if you point out these errors. (Claims not to know that email in capitals is considered extremely offensive!) Also uses the 'I've been doing this for (Insert an arbritrary number) of years' line. That's always a warning sign. No customer really cares how long you've been 'in business' for, just as long as they get what they want, in one piece, at the right price, and sometime soon.

6. Makes a surcharge for PayPal transactions. (If the sum is larg enough! See above.)

7. Western Union don't want to send payments to them. Surprising, as that is one of the payment methods preferred.

Now these may all be a co-incidence, and I may well be talking about a completely different business, but I can't find any reference to the business on the internet except for this one, that has'nt been placed there by 'O' themselves.
I would expect that a business that had been trading reliably for the number of years claimed would have a bigger internet prescence, and that it would not be too hard to find references to them on the web.

So if anyone has anything based on a real transaction, ie, how much did you pay, how did you pay, did you think that the shipping charges were reasonable, and did you get the goods on time, (or at all!) I would be very happy to know!

Where's the website link to the original source you are talking about?

Erm which source are u referring to? The MO organiser? The website he quoted? The person the organiser is buying from?

From what I gather the organiser might not be buying from the website. He's just listing it as a catalogue for reference purposes only.

I hope that Gordon12 can clarify his statements, and perhaps the organiser would like to comment on the reliability of his supplier, if he's ever dealt with him before.

I mean of course the supplier, not the thread originator.

Personally I am thinking of placing regular orders with them, but I am reluctant to do so without first seeking third-party assurances.

As a rule it is usually possible to find references to businesses trading on the intenet. After conducting a number of searches, this thread is the only thing I can find mentioning Omax that hasn't obviously been placed by Omax themselves. (They even post to discussion groups, offering to supply single items. That, to me, seems odd when they require a minimum order quantity, and I wouldn't expect a well established company to make such postings.)

I find it pays to check-out any internet supplier before seding any money, especially if the supplier is unable to offer an assured payment method. Omax apparently are unable to supply trade references, and as they in India, there would be little I could do should they prove untrustworthy.
