Hello Antena,

Yes i remember you :)

That is wierd that people getting firmware updage are getting version 357-73 when i have 357-78.

You can see the firmware version in the xif datas. I wonder what this mean?

By using a program called ACDsee, I can view the EXIF data which contains the version:

Did you use the same software as I do? ACDSee? How about your pics before the upgrade? What version does it show?

Ya. ACDSee. The version after upgrade is v357p-73

mine is v357p-73 w/o upgrade...

mine is also v357p-73 w/o upgrade... so no upgrade for us?

hahaha...mine's v357p-73 even before the upgrade, so the upgrade did not update the software version!

But there is definitely a difference in the hotpixel performance....maybe they didn't change the software version tag.

yes that is strange. I wonder what they actually do to the camera. My c700 is very good for the hot pixel though...even with long exposure. maybe its newer since it has newer software version.

Oh? So the upgrade has no effect on the firmware version. Hmm.. what the heck! So long as it improves the night-shooting capabililty, then lets go for it! :D

just wondering, do you have any problem to handheld the camera at full zoom or am i the only one who can do that?

I can do it up to 1/10 if i am carefull. I can surely do it without problem at 1/30.

what about you? what is your experience with this?

Wow, you're good! I can't get a sharp pic at that kind of speed. At least 1/60 for me. ;) Anyway, I usually don't take such risk, coz my tripod is with me during most of my photo-sessions.

Yo, zhapchit! Where have you been all the while??

I just came back from the Olympus Service Center to do the upgrade. Its not a firmware upgrade in fact (according to the guy). Its more like a kind of 'patch' for the noise/hotpixel problem that is haunting us. :D 15 mins and its done! Just did a 4, 8 and 16 secs test. Looks good! Much lesser noise now. Hooray!

is there a firmware upgrade for 3040 as well...my camera has awful lot of hot pixels...dun know why...

and what is the address of the service centre ?
Thanks!
