1) A set of 4 AA Batts are included, but they are non-rechargable ones.
Available on the market are Sanyo, Sony, GP and Rayovac rechargeable batts.
My preferences are Sanyo and Sony over GP, cos Sanyo and Sony are better quality ones. But Sony are more expensive.
As for Rayovac, the chargers are good, better than the Sony one.

2) As for 128mb cf card, get it from AP. Can get a Sandisk one at ard $80. Maybe even a Ridata one! :)

3) As for dead pixels, u will see either a unusually bright or dark spot.

Hope this helps. ;)

What is in the package?
1) Manuals
2) CDs
3) Cables
4) 8mb CF Card
5) Hand Strap
6) Unit itself

Maybe u would like to consider getting:
1) the lens conversion adaptor LA-DC52, very good for adding on lens (uses 52mm thread)
2) Hoya UV filter (ard $10 at AP)
3) Hoya +4 filter (ard $14 at AP) --> Good for macro shots
4) and probably a camera bag. Try getting either the D-Res AW 30 or D-Res AW 40.

Get the casio charger from AP at $45. Compact and rated 110-220v. It comes with 4 AA NiMH batts and can also be used as a power adaptor for your camera. Only downside is that it can only charge AAs.

I would be interested in getting these also
