Filter wrench - anywhere got stock?

Hi Folks
Been looking around for anywhere that stocks filter wrench sets without much luck. Any of you seen any lately? - got my circular polariser stuck to my haze filter !!!

Filter wrench? Becareful when exerting force to open.

Somehow I always managed to loosen it using cloth and some light knocking

You can try to use a non-slip mat. Just put the lens, with the filter, vertically onto the mat and just turn.

The trouble is I'm trying to separate 2 filters - very annoying. Here's what I'm looking for... not found any in Singapore yet. Looks like I'll need to mail order...

I found a trick on the web which suggested using electrical cord as a grip (which grips evenly around the filter). Needed very little effort once I had something approximating the right tool for the job !

Worked a treat. Think I'll still get an order in for the pair of rubber wrenches though...

common ways of opening stuck bottle caps (not disimilar to stuck lens filters) :

1. wrap rubber band around cap
2. tape the cap/filter rim with 2 inch width tape (masking tape is the best, since it is not very sticky, if not any other tape will do)

when 1 or 2 is done, the now enlarged surface area will provide a good grip for you to twist open.

i dono, so far my best way is still to use hand and turn using the least force yet still able to have grip on the filter. at least it does work on 2 attempts. :bsmilie:

try going to shops that sell kitchenware and get those can opener. they are really cheap and works well to unscrew filters too
