Do hold all purchase until you can get 4K knock-offs on the cheap.
So far only Gopro Hero4 Black and Sony X1000 has 4K 25/30p
For long battery life for Hero, consider the Brunton All Day, the Quba Fatbat or generic battery grip from Alixpress.

The Gopro hero 4 silver has been giving me so many problems. Dont think ill purchase another from go pro. When do you suggest holding on to?

a few of us had an outing and tried out some panasonic cameras, personally i found the G7 to be "budget-friendly" 4k video, not sure if it's suitable for your needs though =)

my personal use for it would be more for travel/street, not so much sports or long recordings

Hi Pettypoh,

Had a look at G7, definitely not ideal for outdoors. Gonna be tough to do a weatherproof casing!
