Film prices

Went to Ruby few days back and they said they are increasing prices of ALL films (Ilford/Kodak) by 25% due to increasing silver prices, with effect from April'11.

They said that they can place an order if you wish to stockpile before the price increase.

i buy from 2 sources currently:

* ultrafine online shop, i bought apx 100, which is agfa 100. this is around 1.59 usd + $7 for shipping to vpost address in the US
* freestyle photo online. I buy bulk arista premium 400 which is tri-x, arista premium 100 which is plus-x and arista edu 400 in 120 format, which is fomapan.

I stopped buying from ebay XP-2 private label. I found the last few batches had a lot of fogging which made me suspect the film were expired.

Interestingly, an Ilford rep says films prices from them ARE NOT going to increase this year, as they still have stockpile of silver and other materials to make the films are the current price. Read it from APUG.org.

That a good idea. because the one at in the price list section is severely inadequate.

When was Tri-X 4.70? Or is that some regular price? I paid $5 for a roll, and bricks of ten rolls aren't any cheaper either.

i bought Ultramax 400 at Ruby for $4.80.. I went to bukit timah shopping centre, in front of the popular there is this small fuji corner shop selling it for $4..

If anyone is tired of waiting for Kodak Portra 400 to come in, I've started a mass order in the Marketplace. It should be $9+ per roll of 35mm film.

Perhaps new updates can be for cheapest price and where you got it from.

e.g

Fuji Superia 100 - $3.00 (Ruby Photo)

rather than having price lists from every store. This will help keep things neat having only one list to follow

i have been buying bulk 120 format film from freestyle photo.... the 35mm is quite cheap BUT i had a revelation yesterday: the price which i thought was reasonable (2.39USD for 1 120 roll of fomapan) worked out the same for any Kodak 120 format film: SGD 4.30. So rather than buy and wait, I thought it would be better to buy from Ruby... until the lady told me yesterday they have to jack up the kodak price soon ..... i order a bunch from her today...
