Btw FWIW Ilford HP5+ $7.00/36exp roll at Ruby as of 8/9/2012. Maybe the price is higher because of my face.

Singapore inflation rate is scary. The cost of transport is really ridiculous. The cost Housing, food etc hits every family rich or poor.

So for film, I think it is still OK. If buy in bulk, will be cheaper. Fujifilm 200 can get at 3 for $10. Cheap.

i just bought 4 x 100ft reels of Fomapan 400 from the usual place Freestyle

4 x 37usd + 24 usd shipping to singapore = 167 usd or 204 sgd

204 dollars / est 100 rolls of 24 exposures = 2 sgd per roll

of coss, i still have to roll it myself and risk scratches etc etc

ordered 2 x 100ft reels of Rollei Infrared 400s from macodirect few weeks ago. shipping much faster than FIMS (freestyle)

2 x 33euro + 11 euro shipping to singapore = 77 euro or 122 sgd

122 sgd / est 36 rolls of 36 exp = 3.3 sgd per roll

this synthetic material is very thin, this film also has a water soluble anti-halation / dye layer like those in 120 format, so need to prewash few mins
best thing, this film doesn't curl

can use with R72 filter and expose at ASA 2 or 4
or without filter and expose at ASA 400
not as good as ilford sfx, but definitely cheaper (vs ilford sfx at 10++ sgd per roll)

I bought one of this from ebay:

KODAK HAWKEYE Surveillance Film 2485 ASA 400

I really dunno how long the roll is, but at 5.95 usd, expired but frozen,
i think it is a calculated risk, if it works and i hope it comes in 150 feet,
this would be a fabulous deal...but not holding my breath...
