Count me in too if anyone is doing a MO for the CF tripod...
vinvin said:i've looked at their website and did not see a head for the tripod. so the $300+ price does not come with the head? if no, is the tripod a standard fit for heads from manfrotto, gitzo, slik etc?
so we are liaising with alias for the contact with the local distributor?
chii said:I believe there are 2 sizes of threads for most heads. But based on info avaliable from nikonians, the Markins M10 will fit the tripod.
As for the "supposed" MO, I am waiting for rights to create a new thread. Also I will be contacting my contact 4 pricing when i have enough response & not the local distri, since i do not know who they are & they are slow to respond to joteo's email.
cheers
vinvin said:urm... not too familiar with the markins m10. is it a ball head? is it good? what's the tripod's thread size?
Most good tripod will have a invertable screw with two size. the M10 is the bigger thread, dunno what size thou... M10?... not cheap, almost 2x the price of the feisho tripod...vinvin said:urm... not too familiar with the markins m10. is it a ball head? is it good? what's the tripod's thread size?

joteo said:Hi,
I got the monopod at S$139 from the distributor.
This is more pricey than ordering it yourself from the manufacturer:
US$60 + US$12 (airmail) or US$20 (express) @ high exchange rate of 1.7 = S$122.40 (airmail) or S$136 (express)
However, as I was in a rush, I still got the monopod from the distributor at no discount. (He was nice enough to meet with me.) In addition, the Slik CF monopod was $195 at CP.
The MO prices for the tripod here are a mere $9 off the price at the shops.
So far, I like the monopod, and will give it a test run when I go off next week on a holiday. When I keep the legs, however, the air resistence is quite high inside, but I'm putting it down to my lack of experience using the monopod.
As for the tripod, there are some aesthetical details that I don't like - the shiny knob at the top of each leg for releasing the leg's spread looks cheap, and the knob that locks the panning ability of the centre column has an exposed screw thread that might rust. Other than that, the tripod seems pretty sturdy.
The distributor for the Feisol also distributes the Markins. He indicated to me that there'll be a package deal eventually of the Markins M1-Q and the tripod/monopod - a 10% off total purchase price.
The distributor explained that the Feisol's centre column rotates, so there's no need to purchase the more expensive M10 with the pan base built in.
While there is some logic to it, I suppose one must consider that a ballhead can be moved from tripod to tripod or sold off as a separate item, and that the panning ability would still be useful to have in a head. But that's just MHO.
Good luck with your purchases.
