Wa very nice :) u got use black cloth?

it is really beautiful! highback indeed. So, how did you trigger the flash?

Thanks!

I set up my D80 cam setting flash using commander mode.

SB600 set to wireless flash (Press zoom and - together for more than 3 secs, infra red logo should appear. To activate infra red to on press mode). Set the channel and group similar to cam setting.

Pop up the flash and start to shoot. The wireless flash should trigger.

Hope this helps,

Cheers!

Super shots.

hehe.. something to add... a black background will be even nicer.. ;)

reason i ask is because of the wireless triggering. The inbuilt flash will pop a flash direct to the tank causing some reflection which I dont see in your pictures. =) so you place the flash directly above tank to light up the aro from above.

Hmm... maybe will try some other time.

I've cut a cardboard to block the popup from flashing towards the tank. That's why there's no reflection. ;)

I feed my Rtg 3 market prawns per meal. Average 2 to 3 times a week. I remove the prawn head, cut and feed the rest of it.

You can try, but it's quite difficult to change it's diet. Especially if it's used to eating live food. You must be able to remain firm even if your aro goes on hunger strike.

Update us the outcome.

Cheers!

Hey pal,

U r rite. I hv problem feeding him prawn.

I stop feeding him since Fri. So by Mon morning, he is starved. I cut 1 prawn into 3 pieces and throw into the tank, end up it sank and he has no interest in it. He was swimming around, hoping I will throw the worms in. After leaving it for a while, he went back to swallow it. Spit out a few times (maybe not used to it), but eventually went into his stomach.

For the rest of the day, he moody, stay at one corner.

BTW, what's the best way to make it grow bigger? I saw earlier someone mention power feed or something like that. What is it about?

Very beautiful fish.

I remember my father used to feed his, years ago, with all sorts of stuff. Fish cubes, worms, centipedes and others I can't remember.

Thanks. Yep, they can really eat.I had fed these delicacy before. Bull frog, centipede, super worm, fighting fish, live prawns and cricket. But I find their favorite food is still cricket.

For them to grow bigger, feed them to the max everyday. Stop feeding when you see them chewing instead of swallowing, that's my gauge. ;)

not only feed more. but also WC more often at higher %. ;) but then again once they hit a certain size their growth rate will also slow down. its the same for all fishes.

The RTG is around 12" to 15" now. Its long and not wide enough to look majestic. That's why I want to "pump" him. It often take around 4-5 super worms then it start to slow down as in gobble and spit the worm out and gobble the worm again. Then it will go back to his "corner" and park there. My friend say arowana normally swim around instead of "parking". Worried that its not feeling well. :( Any enounters / advice from the senior/s?

"WC more often at higher %". May I know what this mean? :embrass:

they dont always swim ard too. once they r full they will rest at one corner of the tank.

"WC more often at higher %" means do more water change at higher percentage. things like this shld b asked in a fish forum? ;)

Yep, agree these questions should be asked in a fish forum :D

Not an issue, if your aro is not eating for more than a week, then you worry. But have to be careful when you WC direct using tap water. My 18" beloved red passed away 5 years ago while I feed and did a 50% WC. I learn a very painful lesson.

Need any further questions you can PM me, will be willing to assist ;)

Ooops...

Got too carried away...

Sure thing, I'll ask around in the fish forum. BTW, thanks for those valuable advices...

Cheers!

:)
