Hi guys, may i know what film do u usually use?im v new to film camera...thanks for sharinggg...:)

My favourite will be the films from Lomography. X-Pro Chrome and Slide are my favourite! I also love the subtle colors that Fujifilm Natura 1600 gives me when I use them with my Natura Classica. For B&W, I stick by Kodak Tri-X!

For B&W, i mostly do with Tri-X, but considering the imminent increase in price, i might wanna move to ilford or arista..
Tmax is not bad either.. not sure about the rest, haven't tried before..

For color, hhmm, i don't know.. I just take whatever is available.. If i'm outside and need color film, just get whatever is available in the nearest shop.. haven't tried slides yet, so can't comment on that either..

My favorite B/W films is Illford Delta 100 for daytime shoot, and Kodak T-Max for night time shoot. My rationale is simple, day lighting is usually strong and contrast and with Delta 100's lower contrast and high tonal range hence they are made for each other. For night lighting the electrical lighting is usually not strong as sunlight and hence with T-Max slightly contrasty tonal range it accentuates effect shown in the photo.

For color film I swear by Kodak Portra VC for street and other miscellaneous shoots and Kodak Ektar 100 for landscaping shoots.

But now I try to make Lucky and Shanghai films my favorite due to cost and I also try to convince myself its the photographer and not the film he/she use to make great photos.

I have used tri-x, hp5+, agfa cannot remember name and t-max.

So far, i have only managed to develop tri-x properly. I still learning film development

I using ilford delta 100, HP5+, kodak Tri-x for B&W.
Colour - I love the Kodak portra VC & NC

i am cheap, as i use quite a lot of rolls in a week. i try to buy good film as cheaply as possible. I was not successful with Shanghai GP3 or Lucky as I encountered several bad rolls. But I have had better luck with Kodak films, I use Plus-X alot for iso 800 and below, and some Tri-X for ISO 1000 and above. I buy them as private label Arista Premium 400 or 100 in http://www.freestylephoto.biz/c30-Black-and-White-Chemicals . For 120 format, I bought a lot of Fomapan 400 (Arista EDU 400 in Freestyle) as it was cheap and it is quite flat when scanning. However, recently I bought about 100 T-Max 400 from Ruby as it was cheaper.

However I must add that film should be discussed with the developer that is paired as the textures can be quite different as well.

Newbie here. I like color films. Enjoy Ektar (but quite costly) and Superia400 is quite a bang for the buck one for me.

Favourite 400 film would be the good ol' Tri-X.

Favourite 100 film for now is the Lucky SHD 100. Quite like the rendition when developed in 1+100 Rodinal. Have yet to try other developers with it.

For black & white, i usually go for TriX, Ilford HP5 or Neopan 400

For colour neg, my preference is towards ektar 100, agfa vistaplus 400 or Portra 160 / 400 ...

For slides, velvia 50 / 100, provia 400

Appreciate the replies...thanksss :) :)

For colour negatives, I really like how the Etkachrome and Porta VC looks. I've always wanted to try the Porta NC, but yet to get my hands on some as Singapore doesn't have them.

For black and white, I'm having a love affair with the slower speed films. Currently my favourites are the Ilford panf 50 and the Efke 50. :)

I have tried a variety of films, and here's my take:

Fuji Neopan 400: Great nice blacks for the gloomy look, or for portraits. The blacks are smooth and nice.

Ilford Delta 400: Sharp nice film with nice contrast. Great walk around film.

Kodak Tri-X/Ilford HP5+: Standard bread and butter B&W film. Easy to control and use and push.

Fuji pro 160/400: These are sharp color films. The real pity is Fuji Pro 160 is no longer in production. Portra 160 is more or less equivalent.

Portra 160: Similar to Fuji Pro 160: I haven't tried the 400 version but I suppose it is similar to the Fuji Pro 400H.

Afga Vista 400/Fuji Superia 400: Bread and butter film that is cheap and good.

Still trying out slides, but so far I have liked Kodak Elitechrome and Afga Precisa (which is I suppose Fuji Sensia).

B&W:
Tri-x for the classic b&w look, and versatility.. these days I use it with Rodinal & Diafine, depending on circumstances and intended look I'm after. Love it in both 35 & 120 formats. Bulk-rolled for 35mm to save cost.

Color Negatives:
1) Portra NC, absolutely love it to bits. Simply love the color tones from it, will really be sad once my stash runs out.. Really hate Kodak for discontinuing this great film!
2) Fuji 400H, gorgeous colors from this as well, balanced and natural, but still prefer Portra NC if compared side by side. Once my NC runs out, this will be my go-to film.

Color Slides:
Kodak E100VS, IMO it's almost like Kodachrome! & it's one of the cheapest color slides in town as well..

Bulk roll for B&W will be most cost effective and cheaper in the long run?

Tri-x but now since the price is going up, Ilford HP5+! Rarely use other speeds than 400 and even rarer to use colour! :P

Surprise nobody likes TMAX-100 here but it's my go-to film for Black and White landscape.

Color-wise will be Ektar-100.

For B&W, all I need is Neopan 400.
For C41, Fuji Superia 400 is great.
For E6, I have several favourites but lately have been enjoying shooting Velvia (50 & 100) with lower contrast single coated 1950s lenses.
