where is that ah...T_T
Oh, next to the Chinese garden (Jurong East side). Free admission in most part. Worth a trip.

If u come down, call me ah... I stay nearby... :bsmilie:

I feel that for the 2nd and third shot, the heads look very unnaturally. Like cut and paste onto the body. Maybe it is just me.

Maybe because of the background. 2nd shot no touch-up on anything. 3rd shot I removed the original green colors of the grass. Maybe also due to the camera position, which was shot from a high angle thus looks not natural.

tomshen, great stuff you have here. I especially love the colour casting (the sepia-ish tones).

Would it be possible if you could share how you do that?

Love the photos and the mood!

BTW, how did you create the effect that dims the borders of the photos? I tried this by create new layer ->select border and invert selection -> feather 30 -> use bucket tool to fill with black colour -> adjust opacity. However, the result was not very satisfactory. Can you share with me your workflow and settings?

Thanks in advance ;)

Some like this:

1. Duplicate the image, make sepia effect (many ways to achive it but the simplest is converting to monocolor and playing with hue/saturation; I use something else).

2. copy back to the original image.

3. Layer->Add layer mask-> hide all.

4. Choose a brush and various sizes, white foreground, brush the grass and reveal the background, till you satisfy.

btw, I also use some warm effect cross-processing action to enrich the colors and boost contrast/saturation.

Basically it's the same as what u did, then why not satisfactory? I think u need to make sure the original photos has darker corners, otherwise the effect may not be natural. Not very sure, maybe you can show me one example.

I am not sure what is this play/act depicting, but 3 and 4 are scary. I can feel it, if that is what you are after. Reminded me of the Korean horror movie, The 2 Sisters.

Could be more horrible... Watching out there will be more FF2 shoots in the future.

check out the obscura box from the game man,,,cool ahha...

Heeh! That sounds fun. I can make fake blood if you like. Maybe you can sound them out. They know me as Ben. ;)

Nice series Tom, I like shots no. 3 & 4. Nice poses, and good use of the sepia tones there. BTW whats with the butterfly motif in a few of the pics? ;p

Right now I cannot answer your question :bsmilie: All I know is that the game is called "Crimson Butterfly". Look at their ribbons, in butterfly shape as well. As I understand, those butterflies are the symbols of some dead villagers who follow/protect? these two girls in their venture.

One thing is sure, I am going to play the game a bit, though I have given up computer games since last year. Maybe my next series would be more horrible, hopefully! :D

Hi!

Just thought I'd answer the many questions about the game, since people are asking... :)

The game, (known as Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly; Zero: Akai Chou, or Project Zero II: Crimson Butterfly; depending on which part of the world you're in) is a PS2 game, usually classified under survival/horror...

You play Amakura Mio, the younger sister of a pair of twins. Her elder sister, Amakura Mayu has a permanently hurt leg from an accident when she was younger, and Mio feels responsible for this accident.

One day, while in their childhood playground, Mayu follows a Crimson Butterfly into the woods. Mio follows her, and they find themselves in the Lost Village, a village with eternal night.

The point of the game basically, is to escape from the village. The catch is, the village is haunted, and the Camera Obscura is your only weapon against the ghosts. There are all sorts of camera paraphenalia lying around for you to pick up and upgrade your camera, like lenses, and special film. ;)

There's a lot of backstory about why the Village is in Eternal Night and all of that, but I guess it's a long drawn out thing, and not everyone might be interested... ^^; but suffice to say, the Crimson Butterflies are benign and are the spirits of victims in the ritual sacrifice of the village. Hope that answers some questions...

Ben>> Blood? There's a costume that calls for blood. ;P I'll tell Ivory Fox about what you said, heh heh.

Yo raydance you from TGP ?? Anyway, thats a good and informative summary of the game...To me don't know why, I find the game bloody scarey when playing it alone at night... :dunno:
