F828 S'pore launch?

I just got my card from my Electric Shop. I ask them the price on Sat, they say S$1799 confirm, but only with the invitation card can be place order on that Day. + aluminum case (free gift) as Posted by bluz. 1st come 1st get the order with the card. My Electric Shop Sale are going down for that day, to get the order from the customer. The SONY say again, only full payment, no deposit :cry: so if you have enough money, than go ahead. Once you have place the order, the F828 will get it from your local electric shop, not from the SONY :dunno:

previously i order prelaunch items from SONY direct thru its web order, they will send their own truck to deliver the things to you. By hand.

$1799 is only based on hearsay.
looking at how some of you react i won't be surprised if Sony adjust it to $1999 come Sat...

Whatever it is, Sony will try to sell their first batch as much possible to up their sales as their sales in Asia has been on a slump! The camera is of course flawless. Cathay Photo will still have the best price in town later. Hey guys just observe first and see what Sony has to offer later. Sony may sell for 1999 later but CP always sells 150 to 200 lower than them.

I remember when I first bought my F717 it was $1400 (Sony selling $1799) and 256MB Memory Stick Pro for $200 ( Sony selling $300). Their price just came down just about 2 months ago only.

It's just a case. Not even sure whether it's aluimium or not. I got my F828 from Japan. Guess what they gave me as a free give? 512MB Memory Stick Pro! Now that is what I call an excellent free give. Of course I pay a little more after conversion rate but it's worth it! After conversion was $2050.00 but it's still worth it as besides the memory card, I got a bag with some accessories inside, an A1 size F828 poster and some samples of the F828 photos.

Aiyah all this gimmick only for the launch in Singapore. Not that I do not support Sony. I do but why not wait a little longer and the price will sure to drop.

Remember this guys! Sony after sales service sucks big time! Been there and experience it. They are one of the worse after sales service in Singapore. So just prepare yourself. Not to be a wet blanket but I still buy Sony products. I am just another sucker who cannot resist their technology and design

if You have a invitation card. Look at the card, it print with the company address of the shop. My is print with that. :think:

anyway we are the minority bunch compared to overseas so marketing products to us is just a waste of their resources i guess. just think.. how many percent of normal users would get an F828, den compare to photographers who already have cameras. guess it would just be the tiny minority that upgrades F717 to F828. & not much F717 users in sg i guess. *all imho cos u compare our number to regional...* its like if you will buy, you will buy, nobody can stop or influence you. you dun buy doesn't make much of a difference.

Dun say you are the minority bunch. A bunch is a bunch! Although many photographers have a camera and probably a digital one, like the F717 but those who loves gadgets and electronics will sure to trade in for cash or sell away to give way to a new born baby! Trust me price will drop.

Yes red, polarizing and soft filters, cleaning kits, mini tripod, extra FM-50 battery, a camera bag and of course the 512 Memory Stick Pro (all worth about $500). Hey I am just giving some advice. That is all.

If you want to know how many F717 users, well not too many but check at the Sony forum again and see that there is about 60 plus users of F717. Outside all my friends carry a F717. Bulky but superior quality in terms of built and image.

Until you own a Sony product let it be a camera, MD, PS2, DVD player, Strereo Receiver, mobile phone, computer, TV, CD, LCD and so on, you will know that you are getting the best selling electornics item in the world. Oh just to let you know, I have all the above. As I say, I am a sucker to Sony product.

your set is definitely worth it as your filters & battery would already have cost you a 300bucks at least, with the other accessories, i think would make up to more than 500. sony pricing that is... btw the casing is it the leather casing? i wonder if i could get it if i buy the camera, if not will you be using? wanna sell? i love the grip of the leather with the camera on my F717 so hope to get the same kind of leather case for the F828.

the card i sent u stated "Woodlands" but its actually a shop in the West Coast.--this is just a Sony and elec appliance shop, not a pro cam shop.
You need not worry, on that day there will be Cathay sales people at the launch to take orders. If the invite card is needed (but i dont think so) i'm sure they will bring stacks of it for people to place bookings.
(OT: Aren't u taking exams? Looked like the F828 distracted u a bit.)

As for Sony products i am another hopeless supporter. Whenever i need a toy its Sony first.

I went to Suntec juz to catch a glimps of the F828 juz now. And that's exactly what I got, a glimps.... Many others are holding onto it & trying out the new product. Me didn't even have a chance to touch it... Anywayz, I was told that the price is $1799, Pre-ordering. You'll only get your stuff in, as they mentioned, mid-Dec. We'll get it cheaper when it's selling island-wide dun we? I hope so....

So, to those who actually had a chance to got hold of the cam, how wazzit? Any unexpected things? Oh yeah, what does the package includes? Hope they provide more than juz 16MB of CF for this 8MP camera... :sweat:

When I touched down the F828 on the shelve to take a pic at the specs paper and all that, he juz came and said "sorry ah!" then he juz slided-in his CF. sort of snatched it from me. He touched for very long. It was about 30 mins. other guys juz waited for this nerd to finish. my god. and then there was one nice lady from X-company and asked me whether I would like to hands-on the camera and I said yeah, she kept asking her collegues so I can give a hands-on feel on the camera. and yeah, finally that guy took-off to his heaven or hell and I got the chance and sticked-in my MS again.

Later I came back in the evening and I got a lot of chances to take pics coz not so many people le. haha..

The exposure settings show 1/15, and there seems to be some slight handshake...

But nevertheless, great shot!
