F80: Is it really that fragile from its looks?

What sort of photographer are u? If u don't need the speed and additional ruggedness then your F70 or F80 is enough. If you need the convenience of flash and G lens compatibility F80 is the way to go. If you have the $$ then the F5 is the best becos of its color metering in addition to many other features.

2 units of mint looking F100 sighted at TCW. Price S$1350 to S$1650.

switch to canon system. :D :D :D

Yeah change to an even more fragile system!!!!

Hi,
just need comments from current F80 users if the camera feels fragile to you?Like experiences in getting dents or crack on body after you drop it from some where not very high..or camera gets soaked internally with your own perspiration due to "visually" large gaps around the joints :P.. and the likes..
Been wanting to upgrade to F80 due to the lower price.. but after trying out an F100 recently.. im just confused as if its worth 2 F80's money to get the F100( though i really love it).But the F80 looks really filmsy to me..Currently using F70.

Thanks.
F80 works great for me. To me the built is consider strong but never gone thru drop test. But for your case, F70 to F80 don't really seem worth as a upgrade. You don't really gain much from this upgrade, even if it is a newer model, not much different there between the both. Anyway if I had a F70, I will consider F100 as a upgrade option.

To answer the original question........... I seriously don't think any camera from a reputable manufacturer can be as fragile as not to survive in the hands of 99% of users.

Not unless you are intending to bring along your camera to some obscure jungle in the Amazon...

But heck, these are the minority 1% of photographers right?
My hands are itching for a F100 (even I think I don't need those extra features yet...) :D

Now you know.:D I've heard people saying that the cost of buying an air ticket and go camera shopping in HK or Singapore would still be cheaper than buying the stuff in Australia.
