kiasi is right on this.

Actually I already went down to recce the circuit already, all track marshals take note hor...the newly created 1.2km road leading to and from the northen loop, the ground behind and around your marshal barrier fencing is very uneven and the soil is those freshly dug kind, so it is quite rocky and uneven and in the event that it rains, the sandy ground may become soggy and muddy and the ground can be full of lobang, so walk carefully and don't sprain your ankle hor...best is to wear SAF boots or rugged shoes, I think sports shoes will become very dirty if it rains...

Also, the grandstand got no shelter, so if rain, those whom pay thousand of dollars for grand stand seat got no where to run, but those who pay for walkabout tickets can run into the nearby buildings for shelter :bsmilie:

for those who want to be spectator without paying, I also discover 3 very good locations to watch the race, and it is NOT illegal. On the ECP bridge, damn shiok! The spot is DIRECTLY facing the starting grid! The view is damn solid lah..even better than grandstand! The second spot is from Millenia Walk, facing Ritz Carlton, the 3rd best spot is on the bridge from suntec. All these spot are FOC becos they are OUTSIDE the paid areas and consider common public access

i don't think the police will allow people to be on the bridge watching the race. it'll cause massive traffic problems.

i also heard from one of the volunteers during the August training. it was mentioned that nearby buildings will have their windows covered during the race. so people cannot take advantage of these buildings to catch the race.

so... all the places mentioned by you... i'm sure there will be some degree of blockage put up. knowing Singapore... nothing is FREE.

...in that case, good luck to all those who thought they can save money and catch it from nearby buildings then, the only thing left that's free to watch is on ch 5, but not shiok lah on TV...cos cannot be close to action and most important thing, cannot get autograph from THIS man..:cool:

This is a good spot hor? notice the two clever women who go up to the balcony? :bsmilie: good view, got shelter somemore, shiok! Whatever you do, don't be a bozo like the man wearing red and navy blue bermudas sitting at the EDGE of the concrete platform, KNN, one wrong tumble over the edge and his head will probably crack open.

got lor... specialist training on 21/09/08

we are still part of the track marshal team and will be assigned to a sector. however, we are specialised in handling/recovering cars when the drivers screw up :bsmilie:

They even want to save money on Manitou driver?! WTF! Vehicle recovery should be handled by a professional lah...

FIA generates $$$$$$ & yet having volunteers work around them

kiasi, you mean that the Manitou driver is a volunteer? How did you get this information?

i'll be prowling along the esplanade bridge waiting for whacked out drivers to crash their cars. chances are... very slim lah... :bsmilie:

I am assigned as flag marshall at Turn 1! (where I have trained before!)
