"Life Imitates Art"

the reflection doesn't seem convincing to me as the painting is pretty sharp while the couple aren't. Dun think it is suppose to be so. Just a feedback

The point was not to get the best sharpness for both the couple and the reflected one. As I wanted to portray "life" (top real life "sharp" couple) immitating art (the reflected, slightly blurred and "Monet" like couple which compliments the painting behind them).

Anyway to help you understand how i achieved the blur straight off camera, I positioned the couple and myself, so that their reflection appears right at the edge of the glass panel, which for some reason (probably due to having a slightly different density **hehe do excuse my simple explaination as I am not an expert at such things**) almost always causes a less than ideal reflection. If you look a little closer, the relected couple and the painting tends to get sharper as they go closer towards the center of the glass panel (where the density of the piece of glass is more even).

In fact, because of your feedback, I realized the reflection of the couple's head is not blur enough! hahaha Goes to show there's no perfect shot and we can always improve on what we set out to achieve during DI.

Thanks for the comment and here's wishing you and everyone else here on ClubSNAP a very exciting & awesome 2011!!!! ::D

Many thanks for the generous compliments :) Just have to work hard to get the shots, that's always my moto. ;)

Can this kinda shot be done with Lightroom 3?

If you are referring to the editing of this shot, then yes, it can be done in lightroom 3.
In fact, it can be done with almost any other image processing software, as the image was pretty much as it was when i shot it in camera. The light that day and the control of the exposure was really that good. But if u r looking at more detailed touch up, photoshop is still the best.
