Hi! I was referring to shots such as these =)
And this too! really beautiful pictures =)
Ah_K said:Yep. A little DI is definitely involved to enhance the shadows and highlight areas, but they were not too far from the original, and I did not go to extreme lengths to attain such a shot.
No flashes were used in both cases and it's about finding the right balance (shutter speed) between a fully (dark) silhouetted and one that can show just enough details. And if you can see, both shots I had the subjects turn their face ever so slightly towards the camera, so that you can see the details and make out their features and expressions.
If I were to do a fully dark silhouette shot, I might not ask them to turn so much as the features I would then want to highlight, would be their profiles.
fantastic series. great creativity. great lighting/mood. i go to your website, there are 3 photographers, which one is you? Please stay in business so that when my daughter (now 2.5yrs) gets married, I will insist on using you!!!
Im always your fan on your wedding photos. great series and have learned more from you. Keep posting!![]()
Amazing work michael!!! Happy new year to you!!![]()
that has got to be the largest throw of confetti ever!
i was looking through your photos from 2008. such great improvement in style, skills etc. you can definitely serve as an inspiration =)
Great images! keep on shooting bro =) do you take disciples btw ? haha
Hi! Great shot, nice framing! Wanna ask how did u get the faces so nicely exposed yet retaining their shadows in the floor in the foreground? Fill flash would haf removed these shadows right?
Thanks JQ, it was inspiration by our fellow photographers here that spurred my passion and I am still driven by their works each day to try and better myself. Hopefully what I post here has the same effect on others too.
And I am very flattered but I don't think I am at the stage in my life to be considered a mentor yet. Plus, in this day and age, with information flowing so freely, I doubt having disciples is even necessary, much as I learned my trade the DIY way. & don't you think that having someone call you master/mentor/shifu sounds really odd! hahaha
Sharing sessions/workshops are fine and we are always looking forward to help the industry grow. Just don't call us shifu! hahahahaa
well said! =) no worries lol i was just kidding about the disciple part. you sound worried :bsmilie:
once again keep on posting! i enjoy your photos
