I was reminded that sanity is a human definition, defined by the society in which one live in.... that definition can vary.

A friend once described it in tangible terms ...
Think of 'sanity' as something representing safety and comfort ... like a house.
A house with the usual four walls and roof and so on.
For a person to be in that state (of sanity), and since the house represented sanity, that person can be said to be in sane.

Partially true only.... good/right/sane vs evil/wrong/insane is a function of collective survival... nothing more, nothing less.

I think it was once explained by a psychiatrist in a ST article in response to why Singaporeans laughed at some of the most horrific scenes during the movie, Schindler's List.
Some people, when overwhelmed (be it positively or negatively) laugh or cry spontaneously, sometimes, both simultaneously.
