SENTOSA FLOWERS - Usually stunning visually, but watch out for timings - it gets crazy crowded on weekends!

http://www.sentosa.com.sg/sentosaflowers/about.html

Of course not forgetting the CNY celebrations at CHINATOWN! Usually best to go on a weekday as weekends would be too packed to shoot.

No you don't Adam.

It's almost impossible to focus manually and accurately on the inadwequete focusing screen in that camera, or any other DSLR focusing screen designed primarily for use in AF only operations.

The screens are ground fairly fine (to look bright) so 'seeing' when an aera snaps into and out of focus is near impossible without high magnification as in use a viewfinder magnifier or a good quality angle finder that has at least 2x or more magnification. The very affordable 3rd gen Seagull ones goes up to 2.5x IIRC.

Alternatively, get a cheap 3rd party split-image focusiong screen from e-bay, or splurge for a Katz Eye or Hoada (usually refurbished Minolta screens, but I suspect it's now sourced from anywhere due to the large demand). The main problem is in fitting these screens if you've not done it before, and also getting accurate alignment (the screens in 10-30D cameras are shimmed with ultra thin brass or steel plates).

If you';re swinging by this way again, I can do it for you fairly easily. Just bring your body along. ;)
