i'm going to get my non photog friend to help me buy as well. research where to buy and the price, so your friend won't buy the wrong stuff at the wrong prices.

I intend to give her a list of shops to go,the price range, check for scratches , get the shop ppl to test the lens, make sure the international warranty card is given. I'm just wondering whether i shld ask her to help cos she does not know anything abt cams.

As long as you have international warranty, don't think it should be much of an issue if there's some trouble with the lens.

Just don't buy the bodies - no international warranty

I have bought a lens before from HK, it was perfectly fine. Hope your's comes in sweet as well

more than i can afford. 70-200mm VR (or the 80-200mm two touch second hand) and a tamron 90mm. heh and to be even more deluded, a fast zoom and a wide angle.
