GEYLANG SERAI REVISITED

20th Sept 08, 7pm onwards

Seeing how immensely packed the place was last Sunday, I'm suggesting another visit to Geylang Serai to sample the astoundingly goot FOOD and virtually limitless candid opportunities. I realized after last Sundae that it's best to actually walk a few rounds in order to get the best shots!

I'll probably be going for the CUPS meeting first. I'm not sure if it's exclusively restricted for Canon users only, but I can check if any Nikon Exposers are interested.

http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=412206

Do list your name here if you're interested in joining us for the Geylang Revisited Outing. If you want to attend CUPS, just go to the thread and sign up yourself, or ask to check with the organisers if non-Canon users can drop by:

THIS WEEKEND'S OUTING - OVERNIGHTER, POSSIBLY

Was discussing with a treasured exposer, and wince there are no plans yet, we were toying around with the idea of doing a combo weekend!

To facilitate this since there are several locations involved, we were thinking of renting a vehicle and splitting the cost. Max we're looking at is $12 - $17 / person, but of course, if more people go, the cost will be lower!

Imagine doing a mini-food trail and heritage shoot at Katong / Joo Chiat. Start at lunch time on Sat. If time is tight, we can just do what we do best - EAT AND SHOOT FOOD!!!

From there, we can then move off to do a walk-about at Changi where we will explore the old decripit buildings. Can explore a bit of landscape photoghraphy as well or do a simple Model TFCD with our resident glam babe model! We could even do the TFCD at Changi Boardwalk there.

Or, we could ask Leong to conduct a baby-steps introductory to macro photography. Bear in mind that the time is not ideal for macro, but as a 'gentle' intro workshop, I'm sure we could find subjects to shoot around Changi.

Break for dinner at the shiok Changi Village and if yu guys want to, wait for the transvestites to make their appearance. In between, we can review the day's shots and discuss.

BEST PART IS WE WILL BE SURROUNDED BY FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD ALL NIGHT!!!!! :bsmilie:

This should easily take up till about 2am, and we can then move off to a night market/fishery/distribution center to do Night Working Scenes Photography. This part would need some discussing depending on where/what yu all want to shoot.

From there, we shoot sunrise, and then go for breakfast. After breakfast, you will be chauffeured home.

PLEASE feel free to make suggestions and provide feedback, as well as an indication if you want to go, because we need to discuss and finalize logistics and vehicle rental ASAP.

MACRO OUTING CUM WORKSHOP (NIGHT MACRO)

24 September 2008
(7pm at specific location, don't need sharp lah... but 7pm is start shooting, not start eating dinner)

OK ppls, i will start a one night mini intro to nature-macro photography next week.

Why weekdays night... so that most of us, including those working and studying can make it.
Very very simple workshop, just find some bugs and we will flash then until they see stars.

Those don't have macro lenses or equipment, i got a spare Tam 90mm, Nikon 85PC Macro, reversed 24mm, sigma macro flash. (Equipment will be only lend to ppls i personally know them, ie, those in my FB)

I wouldn't be shooting much, will be helping most of the time, so some can also try out my workhorse lens, 200mm f4 macro + my lighting systems.

Things to bring:
Camera equipment (flash is a must, tripod is good to have)
Water
Torch light
Insect repellent

Some sample shots of night macro.
