Having slept on it, I have decided to forgo the kit lens as I was planning to get the DA* 16-50mm anyway.

I have sent an email to Emjay and hope that the outlet I collect the K-7 from will have the lens... else I will have a body but without eyes!

Okay, as some of you know, I just got the retail version camera. Haven't played it enough to tell if there is any difference between the retail version and the testing one yet, I'll share w/ you guys whatever I find out about this new camera in the next a couple of days.

Just installed the software bundled in the box, the Pentax Digital Camera Utility 4. Looks pretty cool:

I've never used Pentax software before, don't know if it's any better. But I kinda like it already. It runs pretty fast on my Windows Vista (Intel Core Quad CPU Q9300 @ 2.5GHz, 3GB RAM, 64Bit OS), seems faster than SilkyPix. Haven't played it enough to tell how good/bad it is, but I think I'm gonna use this one a lot if I process RAW files

Thanks fengwei. I use the Pentax Software to process RAW files most of the time. The Pentax Digital Camera Utility 4 definitely looks like a big improvement over the previous one. The menu is very well organised now compared to the previous. They should have done something like that from the start.

hopefully the PC Capture Program also has improvement... use the previous version, sometime hang, and hopefully can link directly to Lightroom or photoshop...
