to the threadstarter, the photos u receive might be very bad, so please be prepared. haha

I'm not receiving the pics actually. Like I said, I'm just finding photographers for my friend. ;p

Anyway, my friend says that fees may be changed as their company is still in discussion and adjusting to the client's budget.

i used to work with the zoo's entertainment section! very nice folks! :D

Ahyoh, ai work jiu lai, mai work mai lai lor, diam diam lar, S$5 dollars is really vice-versa on how people think lar, besides some people are real passionate in working than the money, we're talking about experience earning or money making? Or viceversa, or just one compensating the other? Or some people might just gian on the free zoo entry?
Oh well, let the folks decide ya, and try not the let the threadstarter lose face, he deserves nothing more and nothing less, some support wilt do the job.

Amusing...

Of course people post here looking for cheap photographer.

If they've the money, do you think they'll still be trawling here for photographers? If they have a very important function, they wouldn't trust a $100 / hour job to any blind bidding here.

If you're a pro, are you actually expecting to find jobs here? :bsmilie:
Lack of reputation? Lack of skills to get jobs elsewhere? Nothing to do that you have time to complain here about the money offered being too little?

i believe this is the best, if you are super pro, but u wanna charge low, cos you like ppl to appreciate it, so be it....

i guess some ppl here are tryin to rise the market rate hoping that it is not hurt becos of the low pricing here

you want, you hav the passion, you apply lor

Wah hot eh my thread. LOL.

It's interesting to see so many opinions.

As an observer myself, I do think that $5/hour is little, I'm sure all agree. But I also believe that there is more to it than just the $5 and free entry to zoo and free T-shirt etc.

I think this will be a chance for amateurs to gain some experience/confidence and maybe more job opportunities in future.

Well, if you feel its worth it, than you email to that address loh.

Even for polaroid, I have paid 2 girls a hundred each for a 4 hours event. And they did a fantastic job.

Guess $5 an hour is a "good opportunity" for those who usually do it for free

All the best :)

Hoi uncle you forgot got free lunch too and some one else say got free t shirt ... let's see $5 to cover bus fare, got free lunch, got free t shirt, got free model - wow very good deal. 8-)
Question is how many do they need to get some thing that if close one or more eye can use ? Some how the phrase getting monkeies/chimps to take pictures in a zoo come to mind. No trying to slap newbies faces since the range of natural talent is so wide; there are highs and there are lows.

can't go...only free from 5pm on 26th...
I really want to visit the zoo again

$5 an hour is better than free. even if a pro who hasn't got any job for sometime will grab it for survival sake. between ego and empty, i think anybody, regardless pro or newbie will choose to have a full stomach or partly full.:bsmilie:
are you sure? a pro will grab this kind of offer for survival sake? you must be joking .
he would rather do other job to make more money than insult himself as a cheap photographer.

just a newbie... just find the remarks given to newbies quite discouraging. .. like i said .. pro also haveto start as a newbie...:D
than don't presume anything, from a newbie to a pro (as in doing full time making a living as photographer) there is a very very long distance to go, and it take many many years, only less than 1% can make it.

good luck to your finding of photographers and wishing you all the best.

$5 per hour is like work at macdonalds.

wats the world coming to..
you'll be surprised mac pays a lot lesser than this. While you pay for 1 meal is probably enough to pay for an 1.5 hours worth of their pay.

i did mac, it was $2.50 per hour only, i meal given only......................;p

Then can go macdonald ask if any staffs would like to shoot at $5/hr.
I'm sure they would like to,if entrance fee/t-shirt/meal/camera provided.

We live in an environment where art is sold at a dime a pound. You want to stop all these nonsense, then we have to stop responding to them. Takes 2 hands to clap. Giving newbies a chance to practice has, unfortunately became a convenient excuse to ask for cheap labour, as with other line of work. You can ignore them if you find that distasteful but its here to stay, like it or not. To those looking for cheap photographers, just remember.... you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.

Well, the shoot is at the zoo after all. :bsmilie:

Hopefully, it won't drop to less!

Actually .... $10 does pay for your transport and parking ..... $3.80 per entry for parking and the rest of $6.20 for your petrol..... If 1 litre of petrol cost $1.60, you can get 3.8 litre of petrol. If each litre of petrol offers 13km ride, you can gain about 50km ride ...... ;P.
