Hey guys no offense but $80 an event for 5-6 hr events is really low

Must be creative and take fun shots of people / activities during the event - this criteria alone is priceless.

I agree with delphineus, the payout really is too low even if you are providing the equipment

Good luck finding as its not gonna be easy to find one with those qualities you expect with the low payout. You may not even be able to cover much on transport fees.

Can someone email to TS, and find out they belong to which cheapo company ?

$80... time...photo editing.... I dont event dare to offer this kind of rate.

Xia Suay 人类。:sticktong

$80/hour for straight from camera JPEGs perhaps...

$80 per event.

who owns the copyrights of the pictures? joint ownership?

Willing taker.

Equipment is provided. Not too sure if transport and food are provided. No mention of PP.

$80 for 5-6 hours of work is not superb but not too low. I believe standard rate is $40-50 but you need to provide your own equipment.

40-50..never even heard of it, probably they employ kids. i wonder what the photog can take to meet his 200photos target, seriously anything?

You pay peauts, you get monkeys.
We should gather all photographers not to spoil the market rate.
If not in the long run, all will lose out.
There are really some fellows out there who doesn't care about the livehood of the photographers, spoiling the market rate.
Photographer is not just about pressing the button.

That I agree. Don't belittle photography. It's an art and our pride.

Just out of curiousity, how much does MacDonald's pay for a day's work?

$40 - $50 is an even worse exploitation of young up and coming photographers and a slap in the face to all those doing this as a career..... It takes alot of time, energy and experience to capture moments in an event where you do not control any variable. You are constantly battling with crowds, other photographers, poor lighting and trying desperately to keep focus so you dont miss those "Kodak Moments". The rate you're offering .....all i can say is...part time waitresses can earn more. Please have a little respect and heart for the photographers out there. I understand you're trying to run a business....but so are we.

So I guess they are looking for newbies. Basic knowledge is just putting camera in auto or P mode and pressing the shutter.

Since equipment is provided, Most probably there will be no PP required. You check out the equipment, shoot and return the equipment together with the SD cards. So, people who take up this offer should go there with a portable backup device, so as to copy all the photos to add to the portfolio as promised by the company.

As low as some of us may think this is, there will be takers, believe or not.

i am interested. PMed you details. :bsmilie:

got to know the market rates around from my friends and he said $80 for 5-6 hours is quite low. however, as a beginner and wanting to push my limits further, i decided to take this up. I'm in for this, PMed you already, thanks. :)

Errr...

To those PMed or interested I don't think need to announce here, it's very dumb, the TS is a new member of only two posts, its unlikely the TS will be taking care of the thread, and the instruction was to EMAIL the TS anyway, why would you PM, and again a new member with only two posts is unlike to be able to receive much PM or even check for it.

I think it would be the best if you tell whatever you need to say to the TS personally...

Agree! Agree with everyone now. It make sense. Have pride in photography. We shouldn't pull the rate down due to some people who want economy shots. Why not try handphone by themselves? Saves more! Plainly ridiculous. Please respect photographers and photography. If you don't learn how to respect that then people will not respect you either. Hey take a look at my POSTS amount! lolx. :bsmilie: Photography for life guys n gals!

Sometimes clients who hire event companies to do the job may expect a certain level of competence (tho not exactly have to be outstanding quality) for the photos captured in their event. That's why I do come across clients who choose to hire their own professional photographer even tho their appointment event company offered one.
