Yes, saw it the other day selling at Yen 69000 at Yodobashi, minus 10% points. So roughly $800. Screen is very crisp

Guess it's proven then!

Such a good gadget but sadly Epson is not really promoting at all. That's why only a few shops carry them and selling at such a high price!

Cheers

The batt life is sure good. I have the P2000 since launch (paid $888 from ruby for it) and the batt was charged last year. I just switch it on .. still full charge !

How much faster the transfer speed improved in P4000? I using D70 so far I find the transfer speed acceptable. Planning to upgrade the HDD to 160gb soon now that the warranty is over :P. There are utube movie that teaches you how to change the HDD.. looks pretty simply to me

any link to that Youtube movie you were mentioning?

Cheers

You can buy the Epson P3000 from the Hong Kong Tin Cheung Camera Co. Their on-line store sells it for HK$3360 + Approx HK$550 shipping = HK$3910 or S$766.

I bought it from the Tin Cheung retail shop while visiting HK and thus saved the shipping cost. The shop sold it for HK$3250 or S$637. An excellent bargain.

Also bought a Fujisu 120GB HD in the Golden Computer Shopping Centre for HK$540 or S$106

I followed this tutorial to upgrade the HD from 40GB to 120GB. It is relatively easy to do.

In total, my Epson P3000 with 120GB HD costed me S$743, which is cheaper than the Singapore retail price of the P3000 (40GB) alone. I have a spare 40GB HD as backup.

The beauty of the P3000 is that there is no tamper-proof sticker to prevent anyone from opening the case. All one needs to do is to swap back the 40GB HD before sending the P3000 to Epson for servicing during the warranty period.

Two points to supplement my post above:

(a) Changing the HD in the P3000 is much easier than the P2000. It seems that Epson has made some changes in the internal design of the casing to ease the servicing of the P3000.

(b) Here is the on-line store of Tin Cheung Camera Co.
