Eos 7D ???

By the way, will you guys pick the 1D2N/1D3 over th 7D if it is really $2500?
I wouldn't, but that's just me. IMHO, I think specs wise this rumoured 7D is better than both the 1D2N and 1D3 in the areas that matter to me which are the full HD video, 1.6x and high MP for cropping, 920K 3" LCD and the built-in flash (esp if includes IR master). The areas where the 1-series are slightly better are 10fps (1D3), AF and dual memory slot which the 7D isn't very far behind. Of course the 1-series has better build quality, weather sealing, built-in vertical grip and comprehensive c.fn but these aren't very important to me which is why I sold my 1D3 a while back. But the 1-series has it's following too, coz there are many out there who cannot live without the features that only the 1-series has. It's hard to resist the 1-series once you've tried it..

Thank God I did not commit to the 180mm F3.5L
Ha ha.. tell me about it! Thank God I didn't get the 100/2.8 Macro when I was in HKG earlier this month! Looking forward to the new 100/2.8 IS Macro with greater anticipation now...

I wonder why Canon doesn't weather proof all the new bodies. Is it difficult to add this feature? Or do they simply want to reserve this for the 1D series?:dunno:

the cost involved perhaps?

"Dual DIGIC4, 8fps and 19 cross-type AF points, with 8 double cross-type AF points in the middle" made my day.... at last a speedy DSLR that could possibly focus more accurately. A godsend for birders & sports photogs who won't mind the crop factor... :)

Now... I hope its cheap. At least cheaper than the 5D2.;)

The EFS 15-85mm works out to be 24-136mm which seems to be a good range.:)

However, the EFS 18-135mm seems to be duplicating the EFS 18-200? What's up with that? Or is the whole thing a hoax?? Unless the 18-135 is significantly better than the 18-200? :dunno:

Not only that, the 15-85 seems to be replacing the 17-85 too.

why will canon release a crop body with these specs and kill off e xxd series?or maybe 7d marks e end of xxd?

If not for work i wouldn't have buy my 50D.this thread makes me feel bad.damn.

Canon is EXTREMELY protective of its 1-series models. I can almost imagine a bloodbath in the Canon product management room just to give 100% VF feature, one of the oh-so-f***ing-holy-1-series features to a paltry 7D.

So no, don't expect weather sealing anytime soon. May be by the time the present Canon chairman kicks the bucket, they'll add weather sealing in a 5D as a limited edition release :bsmilie:

Just use a plastic bag and some rubber bands. Does the trick in moderate rain. Also, if you're using an L-lens, make sure the rubber band is a red one :bsmilie:

Ya loh..... if I knew the 7D was coming, I wouldn't have gotten the 10D to take photos as well.

Canon has a nasty habit of squeezing in as many product lines (read revenue streams) as inhumanly as possible.

Gotta give credit to them though for maximizing their shareholder value :bsmilie:

But no, the 7D will NOT kill the xxD series. Won't be surprised if a 60D follows shortly with the same sensor, but decidedly slower fps, a ho-hum AF, and an aggressive price tag.

No la.cause i got it like only 1mth ago for work purpose then now all these features like too gd to be true.i wouldn't buy this to replace my own 5d2 even though e AF seems better.just that if i had not had the need for a crop body, then i could have wait longer.

FINALLY THE EOS 7D IS OUT.BUT IT NOT A FULL FRAME MODEL INSTEAD IS A APS-C WITH
A 18M CMOS SENSOR.THE SPEC IS MUCH HIGHER THAN 50D.BELOW ARE A FEW IMAGES THAT WILL INTREST YOU.

then I'd suggest you skip the 7D as well. A newer camera will follow after it.

I think the images are pretty repetitive but they make good abstracts.....

The dreams will come true. ;)

Actually, time is quite ripe for the fabled 3D!

Wouldn't be surprised to see another FF model in the xD range with 7D's high frame rate, 19pt AF, sensor technology, BUT with no HD Video feature.

Keep the hopes alive bro! :D

I always hoping. :)

3D will not be far away. ;)

Haha. Yes yes.i know that.if i want to upgrade it will be for 5d2 but not necessary. 50d is gd enough for work

From the new line up from Canon, I am more excited by the 100mm Macro L lens. It is suppose to be the same price.
