Though could not be important to most CSer, but I just wonder, the kit lens is not a new EF-S lens? It is the EF28-135 right? So 28 on 1.6 crop will be about 45 mm....

Yup, kind of weird:complain:if this combo is indeed true:faint:(yes I'd recall I've came across/read about this) cos unless it's on FF body as a 'kit' then that's:thumbsup:

I thought one of the kit set for 7D is the new EF-S 18-135mm (not 28-135mm), no?

its definitely gonna be btw 2400-2600. abt 600-800 more than the current 50D. still quite attractive, considering what u get in the camera. definitely worth getting. a mini 1d!

Bro, I would think that is the end of line for xxD after 7D, if the pricing drop till less than $2K.

In the semiconductor industry, the chips are getting cheaper to manufacture. Take the computer CPU as an example. Cheaper every year. Sensors and processers for camera system is cheap. Currently, sensor can manufacture 50 - 60 megapixels at low price, if I am not wrong. The main cost is manufacturing and assembly that is labour intensive and contributing cost.

For Canon to capture the market, they need an attractive price to pull the consumers. Keep our finger cross, maybe around $2200. ;)

If you buy a kit, you get a 28-135 IS for US$200. Isn't that a good deal? You can probably just buy it then sell.

:Later,

if it drops that low, everyone will be laughing happily.

Last year when peoples wrote in photography-on-the.net forum about 7D, I always know they talk about KM. And now ...:bsmilie:

And I can't wait for the 19AF points to be incorporated into 5D3 :D

Yup, if this new AF turns out to be as good as the specs say, it will find its way into the 5D3. Plus all the video enhancements as well. I would say that the video features of the Canon DSLR is a hidden ace which Nikon cannot emulate. However, if you are traditional still DSLR user, it would not excite you as much. 8fps at 14bit is amazing. Maintaining noise levels while increasing pixel density means that there is some technological advancement in the sensor and possibly these would find its way up to the FF sensors as well as down to the rest of the crop factors DSLR in the future.

ISO3200 sample:

Yes, you see the grains at 100% pixel peeping but print out at 8R and it's usable. High megapixels allows you to print at higher DPI and so the noise data is very much reduced in size. Same thing if you fit it to for display on your screen.:)

I think we are giving Nikon too much credit on the D300s.

How can D90 be in the same category as 500D?

500D should be compared to D500. 50D is D90 sparring partner.

How can I say...
I believe D90 is above 500D, but equal to 50D?
That means D300 is above 50D?

Yah, that's right. That's why Canon released new fighter 7D to hamtam D300.

5DII is sparring D700 now.

Yeah, Maxxum 7D

Hmmm...by right, should be 7D and EF-S 18-135mm-IS=(Kit-1) and EF-S 15-85mm-IS=(Kit-2), make more senses right...??

standby already right? ;)

I have to make some sacrifice. :)

Delay the purchasing of the softlight reflector and ringflash
Sell away one of my camera and lens

However, I will see see first. Priority 100mm Macro. ;p

Anione see RG comment about 7D C-AF?
