To all 7d users out there for advice :)
Anyone using 3rd party flash that is equally good as canon 580 exII? Also can work with 7d wireless trigger feature? Please give your comments and feedback as i'm going to get a flashlite for my 7D that i'm going to buy. Many thanks in advance.

Hi, I just got my 7D body at $2376 (cash and included GST) (2 4GF CF card and Canon bad) today. Camera's firmware has been upgarded to 1.0.10. I am upgrade from 400D.

Can't wait to test now.

No no. I'm not get from Canon directly.
Bought it at Funan.

sorry battery555, did not ask for this. You can try to call this no. 6336 8767 (SLR revolution) to ask for the price.

Hi, could you share where can get this price from?
Interested in 7D too

Read the previous posts. I can't vouch for accuracy, might want to ask that guy.

funnie.. called up SRL revo for quotation for both the 7d and 50d...
was told 50d is out of pdt already... is that true??...

Parisilk at Holland V....2220 b4 GST.......

Juz to update on my 7D experience from last weekend shooting Orchard lightings.

You'd better be damn good with your hand holding techniques.

18MP resolution + aps-c + that mirror flapping got quite a few of my handheld shots "blurry" compared to the 30D in similar condition. All the tripod shots were tack sharp tho.

Secondly, can someone verify that shooting at high quality M-jpeg. Tends to be quite soft as oppose to using PC for size reduction. Thx.

Really? What lens were you using? I just got mine last sunday. Havent tried it outside though.

Mine already had firmware 1.1.0 installed.

Where'd you get this pricing? Was at CP earlier and was quoted S$2499 by a guy named James. Luckily didn't buy. :bsmilie:

if you organise for 7D outing sure i will join.
Cheer.

I am also 7D users :D.
Bought mine from ParSilk HolandV, i think it is cheapest in town. Before i head down there i called CP and TK for price. CP price was about 300$ off and TK price was about 100~150 from Parsilk.
Boss of Parsilk was very service oriented and service was also good. I was amazed to see that they have almost all high end DSLR and almost a huge range of Canon, Sigma lens.

Got my BG-E7 today, was put off by the made in taiwan quality at first, but decided to keep it as it's really a lifesaver for your arms after taking a few portrait shots.

$235.40.

I'm actually experiencing "softness" like the below

http://darwinwiggett.wordpress.com/2009/11/11/the-canon-7d/

Its caused by diffraction when the f stop goes smaller. Try not to use F11 and smaller for 7D.
7D was built for sport. Usually used f2.8 lens or faster, max f stop set when shooting is the most f5.6. If you used smaller then f8 you need to set ISO higher then 3200 if speed > 1/500s. (7D pixel size is the smallest so suffer from diffraction)

Are you saying that 7D is not made for landscape where most wud use f8 and smaller?

Would you believe I'm getting such results at /5.6? As mentioned in my initial post, I'm shooting orchard light up (at night).

And also, would you believe I can also show you sharp examples @ f8. ;)

i'm a 7D user, loving my new toy

if there is such event i'll definitely attend

You can use 7D for landscape- the result is normal pic quality.

Similarly, is 5D made for sports since the focusing is much slower.

Also got my 7D from SLR Revolution!
Good Price, Great services!
