It may depend of the computer system you play back that clip on.
What computer are using to play back that clip.

Hi,

I have copy of the 100-400L and I love every moment of using it. Having been thinking a getting 400 Prime but just love the versatility of a zoom and I very pleased with the sharpness of the lens. Still a bit 'short' for birds when I changed to FF but with the number of mega pixels of the 5D2, I van still cropped it to get pretty good results.

Hi,

I can't recall exactly how much I paid. Bought in Sep 08 just before the Singapore Grand Prix from CP probably at around 2.1k? If you are looking for super sharp telephoto, you probably need to buy a prime such as the 400L.

I am probably lucky that the 100-400L I have is pretty sharp in most situation.

I have actually contemplated purchasing the 300/4L IS with a 1.4x TC but decided against it since I already have the 100-400L and by adding the TC, I only get extra 20mm on my 5D2 but may suffer a lost in the IQ. And at 300, it is definitely too short for birding.

Why not consider the 400L/5.6L IS instead? Someone did a comparison on this lens against the 100-400 and his results showed that the prime is far more sharper (which I disagree from the images I have captured) than the 100-400 at 400mm. I feel that the the 100-400 do have some QC issues, I did an ex-change twice (once was due to dust specks within the elements and 2nd copy has a small 'bubble' inclusion in one of the element!) and finally settled for the 3rd lens within a 7 Days exchange period. But has been extremely happy with IQ so far. You may like to see the following on link on this lens

However, the 400/5.6L has been around for a while and it is probably due for an update soon.

Is it just me... or did I gloss over but I read the 5D II user manual a few times. It did not explain the "Metering Timer" option found in the Live View/Movies menu. Anyone knows what it is used for?

And also, how does Auto Lighting Optimiser work? Does it mean if an image is underexposed or low contrast (not in M or B modes), the cam will automatically adjust it as the manual seems to claim? I tried it but it didn't work.

Which 40D is 9 Cross.

Are you feel abit miss out on this 5D MKII.

It really depends on what you are shooting. Of course, everyone would want the camera to be with full spec and still within what they can afford. But, given the current price and availability of models, 5D2 is still the best available choice for me. The AF and fps is not as good as 40D but the high ISO is the key decision factor for me.
