i used to have problem with the Video playback too on my computers. I solved it by rendering it using Windows Movie Maker. its a great tool, cos i get to combine all my video clips and the end result is a smooth playback.

i know there are lots of discussion on this and it will not affect the picture. Nevertheless,
i would like to ask if you guys sees dirts when u look through the viewfinder. it seems that the dirt is behind the focusing screen as i cant get it out even when i remove the focusing screen to clean.

i don recall seeing so much dirt in 40 or 50d. i am just worried that the dirt may fall on the sensor. i thought the 5d2 seal should be better then the xxd series?

anyone have the same experience?

hi CS Tan,

Thanks for your advice.

I have try swapping with a few CF Card and different brand it still have the same problem.

I don't have this problem on my 5D2 but however good the seal on any DSLR is, it won't make a difference unless you never change the lens on your camera. The moment you do, dust can always find a way in and in your case, it's probably past your focussing screen and behind your superimpose screen. Suggest you bring it to CSC for cleaning if it bugs you as it is not recommended to DIY cleaning because the superimpose screen is easily scratched.

Hi really appreciate for the advice will send to CSC for checking tomorrow.

Hi everyone,

I've been a member for quite some time, but this is the first time ever I'm posting something. Perhaps some of you might be able to help.

I've been deeply considering getting the 5DMkii for some time now (i've even sold off my previous camera for this). However, I am troubled with the 'black dot phenomenon' that occurs in pixels when you have light sources in the photo. What's the status on this issue?
(and the vertical banding noise the camera produces)

I can say that this is the major thing that is keeping me from getting this wonderful camera. Please help enlighten on this issue.

Thanks a lot in advance to all of you.

Now this is one really affordable FF camera!
Looks cuter than my original 5d2!

The latest 1.0.7 firmware has rectified the black dot issue...

Hi and thanks for the prompt response.

I'm glad to hear that a firmware helps on this.

Based on the Canon site, it does not state however, that it solves the problem but only 'improves or mitigates' (in other words 'to make only milder' the effects).

Canon states:
"Firmware Version 1.0.7 that improves and mitigates these phenomena is now available for download ...."
http://support-sg.canon-asia.com/index.jsp?fuseaction=support&prod_type=5dmark2

Does anyone have further unpleasant experience with some of their pixels? Or, did the firmware really do a good job? Are there still effects on Image Quality?
(sorry, just a very earnest question, as I am really deeply interested in deciding whether to get the mark ii soon... thanks for bearing with me here)

Can anyone post any pics (if you don't mind), they have taken lately with their 5Dmkii in night shots for a bit of pixel peeking?

I would really appreciate having someone kindly help me get this matter finally clarified as it will really help.

Thanks again in advance to everyone.

Regards,

Pixel-Troubled

If you can afford, go for the CF card carry with UDMA or Extreme IV for sandisk.

Hello Guys..
Where Have Stock For The 5dmk2 Battery..??
Have Been Searching Around..No Luck..Mostly Out Of Stock.
& How Much..??

Thanx..

tell u guys my tragedy ....

got my 5dmkII a month ago already went to service center to clean my sensor (due to dust) tiwice. am i the unlucky one?

TWICE within a month? YES, TWICE within a month.

I own Olympus previously, using it for nearly 2 years, i NEVER encounter any dust problem. But after change to Canon ... sianz... and, they charge me SGD21.40 !! wtf !! sensor need charge de meh? Still remember my very 1st dslr, Nikon D80, i bought it in US, send to local service center to clean sensor, they dun even charge me a single cents, n took me just 10 mins, where Canon took me half n hour.

btw, a stupid question, how do u guys change lens? maybe i change my lens in incorrect way?

i really piss off already, if still get dust, i will sell it away n use back my worth trusty E3.
