Haha the 24-105 or 24-70 dilemna has been going on for a long time liao, you can find all sorts of opinions and comparisons on the internet. Personally, i used a 24-105 for a few months before i decided to switch to 24-70. Get the one that most suits your needs lah

Similar situation from 25-105 -> 24-70. Me also! :bsmilie:

I switched from 24-70 to 24-105 as I find the former to be quite big and heavy for my usage.

It more depend on which suitation you are in, If outdoor bright light.it good to has 24-105mm
If in low light and don't want to pump up the ISO. The 24-70mm may be the candiate.
You may find your short of extra one more stop on the 24-105mm compare to 24-70.
But on 24-70, it short of 35mm extra reach and IS. it weight 300 something grams on top of 24-105.
damn,it alway short of either side.
Hope canon can develop a 24-105 F2.8 IS for upgrade on the 24-105 F4 IS.weight as 24-105.:think::lovegrin:

Good news, TK Photo has 8 units coming tomorrow an the price is... SGD3900 nett. Local set! Great price, my wallet is feeling the heat omg but I have to endure! Anyway, the boss told me 4/8 has been reserved so grab it b4 its gone!

It a good sign of the price is getting lower and lower until it stable up...........:lovegrin:
sometime, if you not that eager has it soon. it may worth wait a while for the hot cake to cool down. But once it cool down, the feel are not longer there.......

May need to wait for 6 - 12 months for the price to fall. The price of 5D has been revised when 5D2 is released. If $$$ is readily available and need the camera now, then buy, if not it may be better to keep the $$$ in the pockets or banks just incase of the projected 'rainny' days in 2009. Maybe some may need to offer this prized 5D2 then for $$$.

Base on the thread, I presume the excitement will cool off after 5D2 can be purchcase off the shelves at the camera shops without reservation of the sets.

Thereafter, the excitement could be the black dot issues. Just my 2 cents...

Yup totally agree...the more heated up we users all..the happier the vendors laugh their way to the bank...let them feel it...its economic downturn now....sales is gonna slow down...so start reducing ur margins before u have all ur stocks STUCKED!:bsmilie:

John 3:16 has stock coming in at about 3pm but also for reserved customers. $4199 for body

TK photo has stock, bodies are all reserved, only kit left. At first i couldn't get a body since i didn't reserve, but then half an hr later, they called me saying some guy upgraded from body to kit, so a body was now available. LoL. so i just gladly jumped in the reservation spot.

I highly recommend TK.
Price has been reasonable and stable at TK.
I got mine from them the day it was available.
