Battery is lithium, so no memory effect, just charge till its full and use

Those are for the old nickel batteries, the new lithium ones don't need.

Its a dry box and not a dry cabinet right? You have to buy your own silica gel and put it in the box. Its too humid now, keep the humidity between 40%-55% and you should do fine. Most people keep it at 45%

If it comes in a bottle yes, you have to pour it in, take note of the amount, its really hard to get the RH that you want, its all trial and error.

Not sure how much the 500D kit I costs...
but 50mm and 75-300mm are pwp items at $60 and $199 respectively

a small packet might not be enough, the silica gel is quite cheap anyway, just get a bottle and I use a dry cabinet. Plug in the power, set the RH and no worries

3. 5D (Full frame) ---> still 5D and 1D

I added a. becos 7D appear to fill in a missing gap in the canon line up for a cropped sensor pro body.

Anyway, since you have already bought.

Did you remove the plastic covering from the silica pack in the dry box?
