Email Problems ???

Hi

I have been trying to access my email for about the last 18 hours and keep getting the following error message. This has happened at work and home ....


Task 'mail.clubsnap.org - sending and receiving' reported error (0x800CC0F): The connection to the server was interrupted.

Our mail server has experienced a power supply failure, and we have someone at the data centre right now fixing it.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Email server is still down and we are awaiting replacement parts. We will advise when the server is up again.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused to our members.
 

It's been almost 24 hrs since the last post made in this thread. Why is the email server still down? :confused:

unfortunately the replacement parts are not available yet. the admins are looking into it now and working overtime to get it up and running ASAP, but the resources are limited. hope all members can bear with the inconvenience in the meantime. will update accordingly as to the progress of the repairs.

hmm no wonder i can't access email for so many days.

just wondering, if someone sent me an email during these 3 days, does it mean that its lost?? i am using my cs email for rather impt contacts...so would appreciate if the admins can clarify whether our mails can still be received (even tho we may only be able to access them later on)

hmm.. this is taking way too long... admin, pls update?
 

hmm yeah im oso worried abt my commercial contacts whom i correspond using my clubsnap acct....can admins also clarify on whether emails will still be received, albeit a little longer?

same here ....

I am also waiting to hear from a couple of people I passed my email address onto regarding some photographic work.

How long more? Give an indication so we can make alternative arrangements.
 

My sincere apologies on the delay - we have been waiting for the replacement power supply from HP/CPQ, but they are unable to provide us with a definite date of delivery. Right now, the "expedite" date they are promising is Wednesday.

We have tried sourcing from outside, but have not had any luck.

Again, we sincerely, sincerely apologise to all members who are inconvenienced by this breakdown, and we will make plans to move to a more robust server in future.
 

Can i clarify that this means that all mails that were sent to our clubsnap accounts during this period are lost into the unknown?

From the look of things, a fair no. of pple use their clubsnap accts for photography work and commercial contacts, so perhaps a server with some sort of backup system would be good. Or else things may be lost during the meantime that we do not know about and have no idea why a certain contact never contacts us anymore. thanks!

Hi Vince,

Yes, unfortunately, as this was a hardware issue, any emails coming in would have been bounced back.

We will look into migrating the email server to a more robust hardware to ensure that this does not happen again.

Once again, we are sincerely sorry for any inconvenience caused.
 

hi all, I like to inform everyone that the mail server is finally up and running. Due to the replacement parts delay from the vendor (HP), we arent able to get this up earlier.

yeap good to hear that its back up again. perhaps you guys can consider some form of backup system which can take over the main server at least temporarily in the event the main server screws up (whether power problems, disk problems or otherwise).
