EM1 2.0 Firmware, a new camera experience !

Not a bug. The caution was there since day 1 when the firmware was made available for download except that no red colour font was used then.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't there the day it was made available for update. I read the page at least 3 times before downloading and updating.

On a side note, did anyone of you experience losing the ability to use the 2x digital teleconverter in video mode while recording?

Finally found the time to update to Ver 2.

Just checked, Live Composite is inside ...:thumbsup::gbounce::cheers::vhappy:

hijack this thread to ask a question which puzzle me for a while since i started picking up the em1 and learn how to use it (all this while i use only pany).

unlike the pany, it seems like oly does not have the focus area enlarge/reduce option. am i right? i had been searching all over the menu but seems unable to locate this feature. or do i miss it out somewhere?

U mean this one?

When you are in the AF selection box, press info, and then up down to reduce the AF box size. I don't think it's in the menu coz it's on the touchscreen haha

yes bro.. thanks for the lead.. it seems like oly has got lesser option for the box 'size' of 1-area focusing.. pany has got 4 sizes...

Question is, do you really need the 4 sizes that Pany offers? My D3 has 51 AF points, I chose the option to use only 11 points in single point single AF cause it's a pain in the rear to choose one end to the other end if all 51 AF points are available.

I'm glad that there's the option of small or big points, I don't need to decide how small I want it to be, in fact, everytime I'm handed an OMD or PEN, I always have it set for the small and leave it at that

Maybe I am spoilt by the Oly 4/3 system, I only use 1 and it's always right smack in the middle...except that Stylus 1, I use one but I move it all over the screen.

as a matter of fact no.. haha.
i probably use the two smallest one most of the time when using a pany..

Exactly, having it there is somewhat pointless then hahaha, simple makes it easy

I use the small AF box at one side for compositional purposes, if the subject is not at where the AF is, i use the touchscreen. This workflow works well enough personally.

I simply use the touchscreen to focus if in a hurry , it's lazy but works well. Do note that there are options to select between 'touch point to focus' , 'touch point to focus & release shutter'.

My fingers too fat to use the touchscreen effectively :bsmilie:

Dug up an old thread so as not to create a new thread to keep track of, E-M1 firmware is now 2.2 and the 12-40 is 1.1, seems like no one noticed
