wah, nice and sunny for IR :)

but something's not right in this photo. I dunno what it is, but i don't feel a comfortable looking at it. Maybe the rocks at the bottom right corner a bit too messy - with pole and twigs and stuff?

:bsmilie: well, some things i'm not satisfied include the horizon that is slightly convex, and this is much exagerrated by the distant landscape, so the horizontal reference is actually 'missing' in the pan ... plus a couple of spots that are overexposed ... and high tide would definitely be better ;)

i did notice that also - so much so that the end of the curved horizon points to the bottom right rocks :bsmilie:

maybe that's why - no horizontal line to hold the photo down

check out the pics again, adjusted the horizon slightly ... quite a sticky piece of work  :bsmilie:

apologies for the late submission for 8th Feb due to busy schedule, was around town and took this vertical pan while i had some time to spare ...

oh, it's an amazing frame, great compo and use of patterns with the roofs below to lead to the CBD area buildings!

thanks guys ;) lots of stitching again to get this piece, prolly need a fisheye if to take in a single shot

ooops, paiseh don't have  passed by the place on my way home from a friend's shop so only made a quick shot.

eikin, your IR shots are done in PS? they are superb!
is there a fixed set of action you always use or it depends picture to picture?
also do you have to expose differently when shooting if you want to do IR later during post process?
thanks in advance :)

thanks tubbykat :) every IR shot is processed differently, i like the sepia tones that comes in the unedited ones sometimes, and some others would prefer to 'give back' the blue sky, and yet some others processed into black and white. the video clip shown in this thread http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=177397 is pretty useful for a start ;)

IR filters are opaque, so the exposure has to be longer (i.e. tripod needed) shutter speed can very from 1/8 seconds to 3 seconds (my usual range of shutter speeds) usually i set the camera to aperture priority mode and shot at +3EV to +4EV ;)

thanks eikin, useful video. will get the IR filter then try out ;)

what a great shot. would have liked to see the entire diamond frame but the view is stunning nevertheless.
