excellent lens. will make a killer travel combi with the 18-55 IS :thumbsup:
 

looks good.... a bit of OT though, your shot of the sky with the branch is underexposed making hard to see the textures on the branch.... dialing in +1 ev would be good....

hahahah. i just set to P and shoot. i want to see wat the lens and the camera can do. but i think i set the metering to evaluation.

Bought the 2nd set (last set) from John 3:16 yesterday. $360 (all included)

Initial photos look good. Will try to post soon.
 

marina $350 b4 GST. now marina sq giving out $20 vouchers. So effectively around $355 (incl GST) after less the voucher value. voucher while stocks last..

The Lens @55mm & F5.6, the vignetting is quite pronounced. But almost disappears @250mm F5.6.

Also quite prone to flare.

But the IS is really nice to have..

Hi ray,

All of your shots taken with the 55-200mm? The images look soft.

I wonder if the 55-250 lens (and the 18-55) have been overrated. Some (boldly!) even compared them with the L lenses!!

If the images that I see are testimony of the quality of the EF-S kit lenses, then I have to say they are quite apart from the better ones, definitely far from L quality.

Maybe what people are saying is that for the price, the quality is passable or satisfactory but I doubt they are anywhere near L. Contrast and sharpness are clearly not quite there...

I just got myself 580EX MkII....... :sweat: now dying to own and try this lense :cry:

In terms of image quality and colour accuracy, anyone has any idea how EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS fare against EF 70-300mm IS USM?
