What's so special about having access to a hotel area? There are loads more interesting places that I would love to have access to.. For example, Pearl Bank Apartments, Pinnacle @ Duxton high floor view from the apartment, loads of other apartments...

U mean members club is not restricted? And they let u use tripod?

A series of unrelated objects put together. Just trying out something new. I didn't intend to capture the figure, but it just happened that this dude came along when I was composing, and it just looked better with the figure there.

When i last visited this old friend, i tried this framing but didn't quite like the jetty thing cutting out from the left and ended up with a wider view including more of the jetty.

Ya, the jetty is quite a distraction. I do personally prefer the comp of #422 but wanted to give the merlion more weight here.

422 was what i did some time ago. But the sky in your 422 leaves me envious. Both takes are balanced. In 422, the reduction in the weight of merlion and mbs is countered by the increas in the weightage of the jetty. And i felt having a longer leading in to the mbs by the jetty appears more comfortable than an abrupt poking in. I'd go back for the view in 422 again some time soon!

This is a view that I have shot a long time ago... Trying a different take of it. Same scene, but with different elements present due to the timing. In this case, a river cruise boat.

I almost got up instinctively to applaud (post-Oscar syndrome) ... but in a sea of cubicles, wasn't going to be well-accepted behavior
