E3 versus E30 Kit

can try asking if there is diving case for mFT? that will make it bigger waterproof and funny to use on the street!!! haha

Just wondering whether there are any benchmarks on the difference in speed between the SWD and the non-SWD lenses ... for the E3? e.g. for the 12-60 vs the 14-54 :dunno:

you can say that because mFT cameras are not weather sealed, then you buy waterproof case to make it even better.

but lens. maybe there is grade for the lens like big brother SHG, HG which is weatherproof?

I think MT meant how much speed diff SWD makes for the lens. Actually I have used the E3 with a 14-54 - it is still super fast. The AF is definitely better in low lighting conditions compare to the E510 with 14-54. Not sure how it compares to the 12-60 with SWD though ....

Hmmm 14-54 II with Contrast Detection .... that is another plus for the 14-54 compare to the 12-60 ..... at the rate Contrast Detection AF is making its way into the newer bodies, my guess is that the next E-X will also have it so ...... another 12-60 II :think:

I heard that there are retailers already starting to dump the E-3 at very low prices... as low as S$1,588 for the body alone... this means Olympus sales reps has been telling them something that we might not know.

Hmmm.... unless Olympus is going to do the sneaky Apple thing and release the E-5 without prior announcements? Wah! That would be wicked! I can start dreaming of a lot of possible scenarios liao... but better keep my excitement down... this is the season of "no money, no honey, got money, keep safely..." :thumbsup:

BTW all the pics are shot ISO 200 and above .... I guess there'll be less use of ISO 100; the Nikons don't even have ISO 100 anymore .... :dunno:

If the following Kits are the same price:

1. E3 with 12-60/f2.8-4 SWD lens.

2. E30 with 14-54/f2.8-3.5 II lens.

The E3 and the E30 bodies are the same price now ....

The E3 kits with 12-60 and the FL50R is even better ... can't find much on the E30 kit except when bundled with the 14-42 ...

Technology has progressed .... the E30 sounds like a winner ... and will prob cost more than the E3 body alone so maybe MT is right - the E30/12-60 kit may come out same price as the E30/12-54 II kit .... :lovegrin:
