The Olympus representative mentioned about some Olympus event at Vivocity, anyone remember what it was ?

Thanks.

Apart from firmware, will E-P1 get the 2 new art filters as well? Thanks.

Does the upgrade of firmware include the new art filters?? Waiting for E-P1 price to drop and hope it has the 2 new art filters

Olympus has said that the price for the E-P1 will not be dropping with the release of the E-P2.

so i suppose this can only mean the E-P2 will be pricier than the E-P1 :|

The bundle for the E-P2 will include the EVF so of course it will be more expensive. Also, it was mentioned that making the decision to buy the E-P1 or E-P2 would not be an easy one. Not sure how they will do that though.

I see. :( According to AmazonUS, the retail price is USD799 which is SGD1109. E-P1 in Singapore is selling at SGD1290. Almost $200 difference.

Have you factored in GST and shipping? It's cheaper if you can get a friend or relative to bring it back for you but to have it shipped here, it will work out to be about the same price or only very marginal savings.

Does Oly cam come with international warranty for overseas purchase?

Decision between the EP1 and EP2 is difficult if they are priced very close to each other.
But with no built-in flash still, its a major turn-off unless the kit price includes the external flash in the package. Also, the idea of this camera is to make it PnS-like for portability. if they have a real pancake lens like the Pentax DA40mm (which is half the thickness of the Oly pancake lens) at 16 to 20mm range, it would make a great standard-use camera. As it is, the body is sexy but the lens poke out too far out for it to simply slip into your pants pocket. :)

ps incidently I was looking for a super-portable DSLR camera to replace my PnS F200EXR and supplement my current DSLR. Looked at the GF1 (with flash but no stabilisation) and EP1/2 (stabilisation but no flash)...heard about the new RIOCH system too. Still looking...:)
Only other disadvantage also are the GF1 and EP1/2 both cost more than my primary DSLR...:(

simple, just take a external flash gun,I find that many people today are spoilt by technology... Anyway, decision between E-P1 and E-P2 to me is very simple, main question is,do you shoot a lot of videos, not just family videos,I meant like those short movies,if yes,E-P2,if no,E-P1
If you use diorama and cross process filter very often than E-P2,if not,E-P1, I can live with the E-P1's video capabilities as I shoot more photos, and the diorama I hardly use, probably cross process will be something I want but since I hardly do cross process, doesn't bite me that much
