if you really wanna do tripod mounts just use tape to protect that area. (aiming rich gariz users)

i think olympus should make a video showing its "weathersealed" capability. to me its a joke, what water splash up splash down.
think its really pretty sad.

but i'm sure only 10% of the people are really bothered since they most are using the native prime lens which are not weathersealed.

but i'm just... upset with how olympus is dealing with this.. if you make a customer pay for something under warrranty... for its design intent.. tsk

Perhaps the half case will behave like a cup and make your OM-D partially submerged instead of shielding it from rain.

Once the genuine leather is soaked with water it might be better to take it off in the rain. The plain body's surface is much easier to clean and dry, drying leather takes forever.

i don't think it will happen for light rain, for heavy rain, i will definitely not take the risk to shoot in rain.

just to share an accidental which i encountered with my ep3 early this year.
I was at Universal Studio Japan when a Korean tourist in her mid 20s knock onto me with my ep3 sling on my shoulder.
I lost balance and my ep3 with Gariz dropped on the hard floor. It droped directly at the base of my ep3 which was protected by my Gariz case.
There is a slight knock on the Gariz case, but it save my ep3. She was shocked and kept on apologizing to me.
I stared at her for few secs and say 'never mind, it is ok', i did not seek compensation from her as she is drop dead gorgeous.

You should have asked her to let you test if the camera was still working by taking photo of her. Then at least you can post it here.

Haha, good idea. Why I never thought of that.
Anyway, the story is not about the Korea lady, it is how my gariz half case protect my ep3 camera.

I have been having a slight issue, not sure if it happens to you guys. My OMD will sometimes freeze and lock after going into a sleep mode after inactivity. Nothing you press will make it turn on and not even turning the switch to off and on again. I will have to release the battery from the camera and then reinsert it again.

Does this happen to you???

Sleep mode definitely works Same on mine.

This is not normal right? Sounds more like 'coma' rather than sleep mode. I don't have this issue.

It has to "sleep" for a while I think. Can't remember what I changed. Its a bug I think read somewhere before

In custom functions group D - there's Auto Power Off [xxx min]
If you don't like it falling dead asleep, set this to OFF.
