From what I see, The E-510 is a more logical choice if we intend to keep the our existing Oly Es as a backup or 2nd camera. The battery would be the same, hence not necessary to carry 2 different types around. Since they both use the same sensor, the quality would be the same, and added the IS would be another added welcome but as Drakon pointed out, may be an added part to fail.

the E410 has live view, and it also performs much better in low-light conditions (i.e. low noise at high iso).

But when I get my hands on a E-510 demo unit, I am going to shoot 100 underexposed shots at ISO1600 pushed 2 EV steps. If it passes that, I can wave goodbye to another months' savings.

Not sure about the price in SG now but in Canada, there is a fire sale on the E500 dual kit lens package for about S$830 nett.

Very tempting, but I think I will go for the E410.
