This banding perharps doesn't bother most users... tat's wat i think.
Because most users don't shoot at ISO1600 -2EV perhaps?![]()
In that case, I really don't have a banding problem as many of my images have dark shadowed areas and I tend to post-process every image to death in my workflow and never notice banding patterns forming. On the other hand, maybe I'm becoming blind from old age... in which case it is a blessing in disguise as I won't be stressed to my death worrying about and looking for band patterns.![]()
came across this on dpreview.
Banding issues on the E410 and E510.

I stared at your pics until my eyes started to see stars also cannot see what you are seeing that's so bad. Blessed is he who cannot see, I guess.![]()

And yet, there is at least one famous pro photographer who have no qualms about using the E-510 to make his money shots. :dunno:

Didn't know that nowadays even 'eyes' could be traded up. :what:Your eyes are getting old, time to trade up for a new pair or adjust the gamma setting on your display.
I see it now. Frankly this is quite a serious issue I think.
Appears at ISO400.... The new P1 is supposed based on the same sensor as the E510.....
