DSLR-A350X - how is it for entry level DSLR user?

hi, can anyone advise why the a350 live view motion speed is tad slow? TIA

Because it's a small secondary sensor, and the LCD screen is not designed for a high refresh rate. It's optimized for pic quality.

But ti's still the best LV implementation out there. :)

... u know, I've played around with the A350 recently and find that pictures taken has a tendency to be under - darker. Its built-in poppy flash is so aneamic, I had to push it up almost 2 stops to get good or decent exposure for subjects 6 feet away, or the smallish shop space at M S Color Sony Pro shop.
I feel the AF speed is reasonable though, but its smallish body is akin to holding up a Hairy Crab to your face without a Vertical Grip attached.
Shutter sound is pleasant, but its the grip somehow I can't really come to grips with...? Oh and the LCD display is small after using the other two bigger brother models...

Yeah, once you've used an A700 or A900, picking up and using a "budget" DSLR really feels odd. I haven't noticed a tendency for under-exposure on an A350 though. What were the exposure compensation settings? Could be a customer fiddled with them, or modified the LCD brightness.

I've checked its settings in the Menus, and have changed them to my preferred neutrals, but perhaps I overlooked the LCD brightness part. Still, I came away after playing with it, that it produces a tad bit under - similarly with the A100.

I think the 350 would produce better exposures with the F58AM flash... its built-in one is so neglible.

Hm could it be due to the DRrange Optimzer ? A350 DRange settings arent as powerful as A900 and A700 heh.

Since we are on exposure on A350 , I find myself relying quite alot of the TTL metering even though I shoot in manual mode , and making manual adjustments based on the spot metering. IS that a good habit ? Been reading some books that sort of hint that one shouldnt rely so much on the TTL meters but should gain a more manual insight of exposure through fiddling with various light conditions and understanding of different light qualities.
