No issues with your 2 questions. The power voltage of the dry cabinet is extremely low so it wun heat up like a fridge

Anyway out of curiosity what brand is ntuc selling for the dry cabinet ?

Hi, atarandas
i brought it at ntuc xtra is digi-cabi $118
and thx for your answer..^^

lol. For ur first question, it should be okay to put batteries inside the dry cabinet, i dun think a less humid environment means the battery will lose charge. normal dry cabi temp should be arnd room tempertature, so its okay. I put all my batteries inside my dry cabinet also. ( I do know that batteries tend to lose charge faster when in a cold environment.)

2nd qs....should be okay i guess, dry cabinet shouldn't be overheating in the first place...lol

i'm using a 80L akarui digi dry cabinet from cathay photo, your dry cabinet's make and model? maybe diff dry cabinets function differently?

Just my 2cents opinion. Hope I helped.

whoops, looks like i replied too late, sorry

interesting to note that NTUC also selling dry cabinet . . . :)

Haha...don't worry too much. The dry cabinet consumes only around 5w of power. Yes, I leave my camera with the batts in the battery grip inside, I normally shoot at least once a week, so far so good. But if you know that you will not be using the camera, for eg. a few months., you can just take out the batt and still leave it in the cabinet.

The dry cabinet should not be warm anywhere else except the rectangular block you see protruding from the back, that's the dehumidifier unit, it should be warm as it's doing it's job of lowering the humidity level in the cabinet. If it's hot to the touch, you better replace it:sweat:
